Im playing on xbone, and i feel like out of the 3 dragon age games this one is sooo dumbdown..no stats customization, crafting is dull, only 2 vanilla type armors for classes (not including the faction armors), only full one piece armor sets, no cross combinations of anything, clunky combat, accessory stats are a joke and does anyone-else feel like the story is like a disney movie with swear words? .. They did however done an awesome job with weapon crafting/customization, characters and the huuuge maps to explore, enjoying the game alot. i just dont understand why they left so many other lil things out that would made this game a 10/10.. anyone-else agree??

You clearly played Origins and enjoyed it, so yeah... seems like the general feeling. It's a great game but for me if it had the Origins gameplay, it would be a 9 or a 10, for now its still like an 8, which is still very good mind you.

Well crafting is crafting. Its more in depth than the other games. You can only use boots and gloves in crafting, but picking up only full sets on the field all the time doesnt feel right I think there are cross combos, at least thats what they said. Can you explain clunky combat? I've seen this term thrown around constantly with this game but don't really understand what that means.
Overall, I agree that it's been dumbed down and all of the little things combined hurt it significantly. I'm also disappointed they decided to go against making capturing keeps a rather large part of the gameplay, as well as removing the original idea to speak to your companions in the field like in origins.

Casual gamers see a wall of numbers and they run.
I miss setting up proper configurable tactics myself - they was something very cool and satisfying in DA2 when the combat tactics were well setup, but again casual gamers would have looked at the tactics screens in DA:O and DA2 and just been overwhelmed, and probably ignored them.
I think it's the catch with games with this kind of budget, they have to design them to appeal to everyone which means simplifying it as much as possible.
I really wouldn't mind a DLC with configurable tactics and maybe an increased difficulty level which casuals can blissfully ignore.

1) Stats are customizable through equipment and passive abilities. Whether it is 'dumbed down' compared to giving 3 points each level is up for a debate.
2) Crafting wasn't present in previous games, so it can hardly be "dumbed down" here. And I personally think that it's very good.
3) I don't uderstand, what do you mean by "two type vanilla armors"
4) Armors have main part + arms and legs - add helmets to that and you have 4 pieces. In previous installments you had helmets, armor, boots and gloves - 4 pieces
5) There are a lot of ability combos in the game. So you either don't know what you're talking about, or you're misleading people on purpose.
6) Inquisition's combat is clunky, but Origins combat wasn't? What?!
7) What accessory stats? Rings, belts and amulets can be very useful.
8) I'm still not far into the main story, but until now Inquisition is far superior in this aspect to both previous games.

When you want your game to reach a larger audience you can either shoot for the lowest common denominator or you can bring people up to your level by designing a crystal clear UI and an efficient learning curve. Unfortunately, one is way more easier than the other and Bioware has proven to fail for that trap before (Mass Effect 2 : no inventory, less abilities and a global cooldown preventing combos, less tactics more shooting, a lot of happy people).

1. im that player that likes to change it up and maib be a rogue with fair str to able to wear Heavy armor
2. ill give you that one ![]()
3. thiers only like (around) two types of armor different from each other that are restricted to class and are the ONLY armors that can be upgraded
4. Not all armors can be upgraded with arms and leg attachments (inquisiton/warden ect armors)..so that leaves less customization than the other two games...plus helmets?? cmon you telling me you play with hide helmets toggle off??lol
5. i said nothing about abilities, i meant no cross combinations like combining different armor pieces in your liking for ultimate badassness and like 1. being able to choose wat type of mage/rogue/warrior you want to be without having them pick for you.
6. for example rogues are horrible at actually hitting the enemy without slashing and dicing the air 1000 times even after locking on. dao and da2 had better hit detection and lock on
7. cause 2-5% in cunning is so effective
8. dao and da2 had way darker story/ more gore. warden family slaughtered right off the bat, do i need to remind you of hawkes mother...dao visually seeing your guy decapitate enemys during battle, da2 flashy but not over the top, da:i idk about warriors and mages but as a rogue all i see is flashy colors and random explosions like if i strapped c4 on my daggers ..im not far either and im not saying is a bad story just questioning the rated M part..
Re-edit: You can cross class armors depending on materials and, holy molly cassandras bewbs *__*

Let's not forget that DA:I has other stuff, such as the Power and Influence systems. Sure, they're not terribly complex, but you DO face trade-offs. Assigning stats in DA:O wasn't really rocket science either. Mages max out magic, warriors enough dex for the abilities they want to use, then strength all the way. Rogues have to get 21 strength to get to wear armor, then enough dex for abilities, then cunning. I'm not saying it's nothing, but it's not terribly intricate either. I'm just saying that they are fairly comparable, and that you have to take a broader look at each game before talking about dumbing down.

The other games also had equipment and passives in addition to the 3 points. So all you've pointed out is that there is now one less feature. Yes, that is dumbed down.
