I create my own work around with AutoHotkey, details in here.
So far it's working well for me, never touched gamepad again.
Perhaps you can share too your methods to lessen the agony. 
Hopefully the Patch come out soon.

Ah that looks interesting. I don't mind playing on a controller but I think I'll give that a shot. Miss the 1 click for map/save.

Didn't some PC gamers complain they can't switch back to a keyboard once they switch over to the controller.

I think there's no walk/run toggle that drive people mad.
