Bioware should have never had all this pre-order crap in the first place. If they were going to, they should have had one pre-order bonus for every store. Taking away content from the game just to get pre-orders is a slimey move.
Bioware should just release all this content for free, and compensate those who bought the collector's edition/pre-ordered the game with some extra content.
I dont mind pre-order bonuses, I do think as you said their should be a standard for the content and it should all be gained through pre-order regardless source/retailer. And yeah if the content works(no validation etc) then MS and Bioware/EA needs to have a pow wow and set up a way for "all" the content to be distributed via DLC particularly with those that got the CE. Though nobody really made a huge deal about the Cerberus Card that was originally exclusive to the CE, so dont hold your breath on the compensation
I didn't even pre-order the game, and I got all the content so I don't care about compensation, anyways.
I'll be picking the game up tommarow, and I'll have all this crap, but I'm happy this happened. Bioware/EA, and other developers/publishers need to realize this pre-order crap is stupid.
And Bioware never said anything about the CE edition exclusively having the Cerberus card, they just said it was included with the CE.

But what's "limited" about it, if it's included in all editions of the game?.

Agree, though I despise GS for the ways they do business, like the severe lack of ethics, no pause in a kid coming in there with games no more than a couple of weeks old and giving him rock bottom trade credit and then pushing an gamestop card on him and then somehow still getting money out of his pocket, then turning around and selling the games $4 less than the MSRP for new product. I dont care much for best buy but I wish their test program where they price match new games with gamestops used prices would take off nationally. Then maybe GS will start doing business a bit more ethically. I dont trade games in anymore because of them, my brother bought The Saboteur and took it to GS the same week it was released to trade it in they gave him 17.00 then turned around and put it up used for 54.99.

Oh, what a big man!
Actually i'm looking forward to the CE game, thats if i get what is advertised with the game, and it's released on time.
What i'm complaining about is the "extra" money i have had to pay out for something i thought was exclusive to the CE game, but isn't anymore.

You wouldn't mind spending 10$ on something your neighbor got for free?
Some people don't. As I stated earlier in this thread, I have obtained most of what was available (inclusing the CE items) but I have no problem with others who aquired that part of my exclusive content through this error. I just don't see the sense in putting forth the energy to be angry at the unknown masses who benefited from an unintended circumstance. I do agree that MS should be held accountable by those parties they damaged (primarily the companies, but a certain degree of irritation from the consumers as well), but I will honestly say I'd rather Bioware spend its time smoothing out bugs and creating more content than waste time seeking retribution on those fortunate enough to have benefited.

People keep saying the Collectors Armor and Rifle is free DLC, it is NOT free. You pay for it when you pay of the CE. CE buyers have a right to be pissed.
I'm a CE buyer and I'm not pissed. The thing is, most of your money is going to pay for the other things in the CE. Physical items cost a lot more. Pennies of what you paid is going to those items. And if you pre-ordered for only those items, that's ultimately your fault for paying that much extra for something just in-game.
You're getting the tin, the artbook, the behind the scenes DVD, and the comic too.

Good for you that you don't care. *sigh* I'm sick of explaining what sympathy means to you people. <_< Good night.
They were asked if they would feel bad, not if they could understand why others may in that specific circumstance. Despite not feeling bad myself, I am sympathetic to some of those who feel wronged (there is a certain degree of anger that some have shown I am simply unable to fathom). My ability to sympathize does not require me to handle the same issue in the same way, merely to understand why others might handle it as they are.

The card is limited to new copies of the game, and will stop being included after a certain point (just like the DAO bonuses).
First, let me make it clear I do not necessarily agree with how it was handled, but all the term "limited" actually means is that there is a finite number. The cerberus cards were advertised on a list of what was included in the CE. The game disc was also shown on that list, therefore it is possible a miscommunication did occur. If this is the case (and it was not someone simply changing their minds along the line), then the error would be that the SE never gave a list about what was included (though common sense tends to make people think one wouldn't be needed for most games, as they don't include limited bonus items most of the time).

Slightly better? Not a chance. And you'll see that once we start posting in-game shots. Tiny screen. 24" WUXGA @ 1920x1200? Hardly. Bunched? Not in my "big-ass" chair I'm not. Keyboard and mouse. Pinpoint accuracy and hotkeys, anyone? I vote yes. So, you play with your little joysticks. And I'll enjoy this game the way it was intended for anyone with 20/30 or better eyesight.IRoNM4yN3 138 wrote...
i never said it looks that much better. you PC fanboys think everything is better because it looks slightly more hi-res on your tiny little computer screens bunched over your keyboards and mice. i can chill in my big-ass chair, lean back, and play with just one controller
