When I preordered the Collector's Edition, I looked over what the Collector's Edition was recieving and the armor / gun was part of it. I don't care if it's not "ruining" the experience, but it's still something the Collector's Edition was promised and is no longer true.

So wait, you are no longer getting the Armor & Weapon in your CE? How is it no longer "true" that those are a part of it?

If you complaint is simply that they aren't "exclusive" anymore, then seriously, cry some more. YOU are still one of the select and "elite" few who managed to get a CE copy of ME2. YOU have the original and intended CE DLC. I on the other hand, simply have the SE and a few goodies M$ let leak for free. YOU can say that you're an owner of the CE. I cannot. You've lost NOTHING. And I've gained something marginal. My owning a random fluke does not stop you from still having the overly awesome CE.

From this point forward, having the CE Armor & Rifle means one of two things. You either own the awesome CE, or were part of a random event. Let me safely assure you that the level of prestige between those two groups will never be equal. You still have an "Exclusive" item, as my DLC will never be seen as legit like yours.

Xbox360 has annoyed me a little bit. I believe for Dragon Age Orgin's they were supposed to release a "Patch" and I think Bioware game them the DLC to "Hold" untill later. Then xbox360 released the DLC without warning. A bioware said they done it "Unexpectedly"

and that caused something to mess with the specs. Now they are offering free dlc limited to people who Bought the CD or at a select retail store. I think bioware has placed too much trust and faith in the xbox360 not the users but the people running the company

This is like pirated the dlc content from an online website or something or similar

Ha. The saga takes another turn for the ridiculous.

In the beginning, there was a list of special features contained in the Collector's Edition.

People saw this list, and thought "Yes, this is worth the extra money" (Double the price of the standard edition in the UK).

Then it seems like here in the UK we may not get the tin case.

"Oh... well that sucks. But still, there's all the other stuff, so..."

But then it turns out that the Cerberus Network Card isn't exclusive either. It comes with all copies, even though it was only listed with the CE, as one of the special bonus features. "But we never said it was exclusive, we just completely neglected to mention it for the standard version of the game!" came the lame excuse from Bioware, as though they hadn't been misleading people for months.

At this point I cancelled my CE pre-order, switching to the standard version, because I couldn't justify the extra money for the few bonuses left. But hey, other people kept the faith...

Then, the "exclusive" armour and weapon are put up for others to get for free. So you didn't actually have to get the CE to get that either, you could get it for free having bought only the standard edition.

So, by spending all this extra money for a CE, what exclusive content do you get that you couldn't get anyway?

A £2.99 comic book, a 'making of' dvd, and an art book. That's £26 for a dvd and a few pictures.

There's no wonder that people are upset, when they originally thought they were paying that money for the dvd, the art book, a tin, some EXCLUSIVE armour they couldn't obtain any other way, and a mysterious Network Card unlocking yet more bonus content.

To be honest, I'd have liked a nice tin for the game, I thought bonus game content sounded cool, and I had decided to treat myself to the CE and all the cool extra stuff when it was first announced. But as the CE was slowly and systematically devalued over the following months, well... my growing disillusionment means that on Friday I'll be getting the standard edition, and enjoying it, and to hell with all this bonus crap.

Seriously, different bonuses from different places, depending on when you buy it, or what you drink, or if you saw a pigeon on a day beginning with 'T'. It's all nonsense, and I'm completely fed up with the whole thing.

Wow. I just saw this story on Kotaku and also feel incredibly cheated by this... Bioware has every right to be annoyed with MS's foul up, but the idea that thousands were able to "sneak in" tons of free DLC, and now I who already paid for Collector's Ed. can't under any circumstance get the same DLC in the future is incredibly annoying.

Now at the very least everything that was released should be made available for free over the Cerberus network, irregardless of whether you bought CE, Gamestop, or other retailer versions.

I just hope that whenever they put up the items for download "officially" that it will all be free including the former CE exclusive armor.

Jasonco2 makes an awesome point. I got the CE sure, but I got it for the DVD, comic, and artbook (and maybe a little for the sweet tin), not because of some silly armour (though I do like the look of the Collector's chestplate...) that I could probably end up downloading six months after release. Some people got a little extra because they were awake. It's good for them, but CE owners are the ones with the legit DLC. And besides-- the CE comes with the "full version of ME2," whatever that means. But I take it we're still getting a little unrevealed something extra in the game itself. And even if not, your game is your game. Who cares if someone else got the extra stuff without the CE itself? It's not like you would have to play their normal copy... be happy with what you did get, and be happy for them for being able to get something a little extra without having to resort to piracy.

It's just to my understanding, not trying to sound like Well you didn't order the CE so no bonus item for you. It's about if you bought the item at Gamestop you get a bonus item, and if you buy it from direct2download a slighty different bonus item

As well as if you got the CE and the normal edition supposed to be similar expect for minor things that make them unique. Then to have some people who give away the product to all users, after Bioware spent all this time and work into this program only to have it

seperated by an over eager company, makes me a sad panda. Truely if this was only on xbox360 then they have a history of doing things like this, for example as I stated the reason in my earlier post about getting the item pre ready DLC content

Not just that but xbox360's console, the red eye. Where you have to ship the product to get it fixed. Don't get me wrong all the achivements and xbox live chat is good but your messing with someones product when you release content and bonus items you are not allowed to

Don't believe Bioware gave them permission to do that, fact they even had the ablity to access that content and trigger it free for all users makes me suspect of xbox360

No matter, anyway. BioWare will set things straight, and no, that doesn't mean making the DLC available to everyone. It means taking action against Microsoft and forcing an update that disables the unrightfully downloaded content.

Me too, though I was most likely on xbl when it happened, but I was playing MW2. So I wasn't where I could see DLC.

while i like them a wee bit better than EA, they have a nasty habit of not supporting their games very well, and, in some instances, they're outright trying to kill their games. just look @ what they did to PlanetSide or SWG.

also, i was pretty bummed that this was only for the 360

The xbox  hooked up to one of the screen  is good for some games sometimes  But quiet  frankly they all  look like Me 1or worst and thats even game release last week.

I only pop on this  pokeing around for info  while waiting for my  CE to arrive.

On a personal Note  I've been reading this thread  and quite  frankly your a complete ****. Seriously  if i knew you in real life I'd tell to go  play in traffic.

ugh you see this is why I hate this site but instead of going into a long rant I will point out a few simple things

1. the game official release date is TOMORROW not today okey, TOMORROW so all of you who where lucky enough to get the game early well you may have encountered a error

2. do I REALLY need to point out something repeated several ****ing times on the original forum guess I have to..so heremasseffect.bioware.com/universe/arsenal/armor/ and then scroll down to collectors armor were it is quit bold in saying
     *Collectors' Edition or Digital Deluxe only.

this should be taken for what it is for collectors edition or  digitial deluxe ONLY I would also look into the old forum but guess what ? I can't as the link to the forum now goes to this lovely little space on the internet.

That would be nice, but I doubt it. Us CE owners will take the L on this one.
