Between Microsoft's Return to Ostagar screw up and this....I'll be amazed if Bioware continues to do business with them

They don't have a choice, all DLC for the Xbox 360 has to go through MS and be hosted on Live.  All the Cerberus network and EA servers do is link your Xbox to the download on Live.  It's inaccessable without the Cerberus Network or EA account, but it's still hosted on Live.

This was just a matter people finding it on Live right after it was hosted and before the proper download restrictions were put in place.

This is why I love Xbox live. There's always the hope they screw up and upload something way too early, and for free. What I especially love this time is how they screwed over Gamestop haha.

Too bad I'm in Europe and getting ME2 on the pc, though. Would've liked some of those codes.

This is actually incorrect - Dragon Age at the very least (and presumably ME2) contacts independent EA servers for some items. Most of those items are still available via XBL, but EA hosts them on separate servers.

Great work, Microsoft! The whole XBL team sucks. They're the Geek Squad of online gaming. A "NIC CARD"? It's a f***ing NIC, you retard!

Although, it would still need to go through Microsoft for the DLC to be available on the Xbox console. I doubt Microsoft would let just any DLC go through.

Microsoft is still involved in the process but EA is effectively trying to bypass them in some instances, which may actually explain why Bioware's DLC keeps getting screwed around with by MS.

They were not "offered" it was an error.

There is a difference.

"All DLC errored for free" doesn't sound as cool.

Microsoft screwed up, pure and simple.

It's the fans who bought the CE (for double the cost of SD, UK) for the exclusive collectors items that have been done over.

I hope Bioware sort this out.

Bioware wasn't the one responsible, and that would only worsen the situation.

I can assure you it wasn't a mistake. Microsoft has a long track record for this kind of sh**. They're essentially spitting the face of BioWare and EA. This is why BioWare should enforce a License Agreement and/or Non Disclosure Agreement stating their content is not to be made available until BioWare gives the go-ahead to do so. That, or all future DLC should only be accessible via a code from an end user and restrict the rights of the idiots posting it for free on Live.

If you paid double the cost of the standard edition strictly because you wanted the exclusive Collector Armor and weapon, Bioware's not the one who screwed you, nor is Microsoft - you sat on that pole all by yourself. The CE still comes with loads of special features and a shiny metal case and so on.

Like Mummolus says this is wrong, you have to register the unique code you get with your pre order to your EA account to activate the armour in game thats why it wont work! Thats what had to be done with dragon's age, why else would you need an EA account.

It's still part of the entire bundle, get off your high horse.

I'm not on a high horse - I pre-ordered the CE as well. I'm getting just as 'screwed' as the rest of you, but honestly, paying double the price and feeling ripped off that there was an error with the tiniest piece of the CE? It's not like the error even cost you anything - we're still getting all of our accessories, including the DLC. We just won't be quite as able to show off if we happen to be hanging around one of the couple of thousand people who were on in time to get the free downloads.

It's not guaranteed the UK CE game comes with the tin case yet though, ie DA:O CE game for the UK didn't come with one, and it was also missing the map.

And the phrase "you sat on that pole all by yourself", i haven't heard that one before, is it an American phrase by any chance?.

This is the UK and probably the rest of the EU getting s**t on all over again.

I'm not American, but possibly. It's slightly vulgar, I'll admit.
