Actually, I think the longest game Bioware has ever done was BG2. I think one of the Doctors (before they retired) mentioned that they will never have enough resources and time to make a game like BG2 using todays technology. A game like BG2 is just too big and expensive to make nowadays.

Yes, it's the best in term of stuffs to do and thing to explore, but it falls short in term of storyline. I prefer companions and interactions from ME3 a lot better, even though it's not as much. gameplay is bad and clunky for the PC, I don't like how they lie and say it's optimized for PC, when it's clearly not. Romance is shallow and dry, the first DA game where I don't care enough to romance anyone. I don't know, the game is not perfect, but it's a lot better than a lot of the games I play recently, so it's still one of my favorites.

Concerning the story, character writing, and other things in that realm; DAI is definitely up there. I absolutely love the warroom, and wish there was even more functionality for it. Its a fantastic feature, and sort of creates a theme of doing things on a grand scale. The companions are great, and I already have some I love and hate (both being signs of good writing, much like Miranda in ME2).
As far as functionality, controls, and the gameplay itself, its my least favorite Bioware game since ME1. It doesn't flow nearly as well as DA2, and doesn't even have anything resembling tactics. On PC, the KB+M basically precludes most melee classes from being controlled directly, particularly on higher difficulties. Its almost like the game is trying to replicate the ME2/3 style of companion AI, where they just do their own **** and you occasionally target something specifically with an ability. But it doesn't work well, and ranged won't move away from melee, etc.
It is fun, and I am enjoying it. But there needs to be some patching for the PC version to make the controls less of a pile of ****.

That really sucks because BG2 is easily my absolute favorite Bioware game of all time, and in my opinion, probably the best. I loved the combat, the stories, everything. You just don't get things like the mission where your trying to figure out what is killing the villagers anymore. Running around that area, bringing the ogres and orcs together with the villagers to live in harmony, then going out to fight the real evil. That was awesome. I still think we will see games like that again. Someday they will come up with technology that makes it easier and faster to create this stuff. That is my hope anyway.

Among the best?
It's good, but it doesn't hold a candle to Jade Empire, Knights of the Old Republic, Dragon Age: Origins, or Mass Effect 2.

The last of the franchise? I highly doubt that, it is selling so well that I am sure there will be another DA at some point. Look at ME, there is another one in production even though the original trilogy has been completed.

Worst game in Bioware's history, by far. An embarrassment. Probably the game that officially declares the true Bioware dead, and now it is just EA.

I actually love this game. Not really sure what all of the complaints are - I have heard the controls are odd on PC, though I'm playing console so I wouldn't know. Aside from a few glitches here and there (none of which have been too bad) the game's been pretty amazing. Open and expansive like an Elder Scrolls game, with the epic sort of story Bioware has shown us countless times before. As for dialogue - never once felt like I was forced to have to say something I didn't agree with; unlike with DA2 and (sometimes) in Origins. I'm at over 60 hours right now - and still feel like I'm only halfway through the main story. (I'm absolutely nowhere near completing all of the sidequests either. Everytime I look at my active quest list I feel almost daunted by it all) Add in how our choices from previous games affect things, and it's all rather amazing.
So to answer the OP question - do I think it's among the best? I think it might be *the* best. Origins and Kotor had been my two favorites prior to this. By the time I hit the In Our Hearts Still Burns quest I felt like this blew those completely out of the water. I'm not sure what much of the issue has been for some people. Glitches aside this is a really solid game. If you don't feel the same that's all well and good. We can agree to disagree.
I'm just wondering is all.

I do love this game. But i see way to much collecting in now days games, which I end up doing the first time around but 2nd and 3rd time its just a rushed game.
I miss mass effects 1's feel as Dragon age Origins, you where not needing to collect this and that and paddy wack. The shard's do add a neat addition as do the Puzzles, but the potion upgrading is getting a bit much, especially on nightmare when i need to use those elfroots to craft extra rejuv potions for out of battle healing.
My general thought about this being the Best is in most parts Yes this game is one of Bioware's Best game: Open world, companion selection, classes, storyline. But I wish they did more Cosmetics for your face and hair, even body builds would be nice too. Other then that Great job Bioware. I give a 4 outta 5.

gameplay-wise i think its the worst of the DA franchise(difficult fighting, healing, enemies respawn too quick, etc, etc).
looks beautiful, seems too have a interesting storyline.
i gave it up after 10 hours, mostly because i couldn't buttomsmash through the fights.

It has the potential to be the best, but the tactical cam and some combat designs are just awful in their current state, especially on pc.
I just hope they can patch this stuff.

So yeh i think it worst RPG.
If they wanna do action rpg just do it like skyrim, witcher, jade empire. Not an half@ wanna be everything games.
If they wanna do hard core rpg do it like wasteland 2 divinity, (low budget game but more fun)
DAI dev " we gonna do it BIGGG we gonna do everything , let copy wevery game from above and patch them up togather"
Im a hardcore rpg fan ,so this game is a No No for me. Hope witcher3 and pillar of eternity better than this crap.

I don't know about that. It's hard to compare the two of them really. Jade Empire's story was incredibly amazing. It's combat was a lot of fun, maybe more fun than DA:I. It's companions were awesome. I mean, there was a little girl that turned into a demon for crying out loud. The only place I can really say DA:I trumps Jade Empire is exploration.
