Is it just me or is it just not as good as ME3? I watch the maleShep and Kaidan scene several times and just swoon at how romantic it is, and there is a feel of climatic to lead to that scene. DAI scene is just like whatever, I don't even care if it's there or not. It's not about nudity or sex since I can get that elsewhere, it's just somewhat lacking. I don't know, but I find ME3 scenes to be perfect, albeit for the silly underwear.

Which characters are you romancing? It might partially be which romances you chose, however I'm not sure as I'm still struggling to get going in my 2nd play (I picked the adorable but sad romance on my first play and have been trying to get a second wind from that, oops!)

For my male Inquisitor, I chose Josephine, but she doesn't have one. Iron Bull's scenes are being treated as a joke, there is no romance in there. Cassandra, Dorian, and Cullen were the only ones with the scenes which feel romantic. I haven't watched Sera yet. Dorian's entire romance arc seems like a PSA to me. I'm disappointed with the romance, but it's not because of their look or anything, but they all seem very shallow to me, personally.

Josephine's seems to be set up so people can take it as implied sex or no sex, depending on how they prefer to see it. I understand Iron Bull's to a degree (although I haven't done it yet) as he explains there is no marriage in the Qun. He views sex more casually than a lot of the other characters, but on the other hand I'm a bit sad to hear that and I can see why you'd be disappointment.
Personally I found Solas' romance to be sweet and romantic but also lacking in scenes and extremely sad. There is no sex scene in it, although sex is implied depending on dialogue choices. Didn't bioware say somewhere that all the romances were suppose to be created equal? If some are as bad as you're saying they are I think there's a few issues that might need to be fixed then because it sounds like we're being shoehorned into 1-2 romance options that are actually romantic. What sort of things would you suggest to fix romances that feel lacking?

I personally want to scenes to be in similar quality in ME3. There is a leading up to the scene where the 2 are expressing love instead of "I want you" and "We'll bang, ok?". Something like the Kaidan scene as a preference:
Maleshep and Kaidan:
If you're uncomfortable with that, then:
Femshep and Kaidan:

Something is sweet and personal, like cuddling go a long way. The scene is just too abrupt, there are boobs and ass, but I could care less and would trade that in for a romantic scene with underwear like the one from ME3. Preferrably, I want a hybrid between DAI and ME3. It seems to be perfect.

I can see what you mean with them feeling romantic, It would be nice if our Inquisitor got some cuddle-time. A few sweet words, some soft music and dim lighting then cuddling over a glass of one of the various liquors you collect even? Unfortunately I'm doubtful anything will get patched in or thrown in DLC. Maybe we'll get lucky and the inquisition will march north in another game and our romances will build on what's there.
or perhaps our inquisitor is suppose to forget romance and start collecting cats, there's plenty of space in her quarters for them. pahaha.
In all seriousness though. I would be pretty pleased if we could have a romance that ended on a sweeter tone, but was romantic as the Shepard and Kaidan (or DA:O ones / Solas / the romantic ones you mentioned) with maybe a clip or two like the Shepard and Kaidan romance scene had.
I think part of the issue is that there just wasn't quite enough time put into fleshing out the romances. I can understand why-- the Inquisitor is a busy man/woman, but in a game that supposedly has over 100 hours of content aside from the main storyline I think some more room could have and should have been made, even if it meant some scenes would be side quest specific.

Read poety, saw Cassandra topless. I was satisfied.
Same here, my Party is Cassy, Dorian (the guy is freaking awesome) and Varric.
A lovable woman and two jokesters in the party? Completely awesome.

Sad to hear they aren't all awesome. Just finished the Cullen one and it was really, reeeally sweet. Probably could have been more scenes, but the ones he got were all incredibly well done imo. Loved it from start to finish (Final part was adorable). I was hoping all the other ones were just as good!

Some don't even have it. Solas and Josephine don't have it. Iron Bull romance is being treated as a joke. They kinda make the game leans more toward one romance than the others and it's not cool.

ETA: I wasn't terribly disappointed by the lack of a sex scene for Solas, either, given certain... revelations.

Actually, they all are serious relationship (Except for Solas), but some scenes are more joking rather than romantic like with Iron Bull. It's about Bioware decision on how to implimenting the scenes rather than the characters. Your sarcasm falls flat here.

Again, all people act differently. There's no reason a character can't then. That was kind of the point, I'm guessing.

I'd disagree with Solas' relationship not being serious, and rather say that it's 'complicated'.
Then again I'm biased.
I think the point might be to provide people with more choices in the kind of romance they want, particularly in future play through . Some people may be playing an Inquisitor that wouldn't want a serious relationship, Some may want sex, some may not. Some may want basically only sex. Kind of like how zev starts in origins. You're basically raised up as the world's only hope from the start, and I can see different people wanting different things. If in such a situation where everything seems to be life or death committing to a romance isn't exactly the primary goal. Who knows what would happen to you, or your lover? Could your character really afford the distraction of losing someone they're closely attached to? But I'm just speculating on possible reasons here, and personally I prefer the adorable romances that make me want to "squee" and "fangirl" like I'm a teenager again.

I'd like to see more scenes where you simply can feel that the characters care for each other. Check 1:42 - the way Sarah is looking at Jim... I loved it. (Video contains small spoilers for HoTS, you have been warned
) As for ME3 romances - they were sweet and nicely done. I thought DA:I sex scenes will be similar to ME and was reeeaaally surprised that decided to show bare breasts and butts this time.

Josephine's seems to be set up so people can take it as implied sex or no sex, depending on how they prefer to see it.
That character should not have been included in the straight male romance group, since it is not one. She should have been the single option for disney hand holders, in a mature game.

So asexuals are "Disney hand holders?"

I've only seen Dorian (first hand) and Cassandra (YouTube) so far, but I found them both much more satisfying than ME3's rolling around in your underwear. (Not that I won't always have a special place in my heart of Male Shepard and Kaidan rolling around in their underwear, I do and I will.)

I don´t even know what that is, but what ever it is, it is not straigth male romance. It should be on its own group.

Best romances in DA:I so far, for an atheist or agnostic Inquisitor :-
1) Solas
2) Dorian
3) Sera
Cassandra is religious so that's out. Josephine is a Disney Princess and I am not into Disney Princesses. Iron Bull's romance is too funny to be serious or romantic.

Personally I really like the Iron Bull romance. Sure there's some humorous interactions with it ... the starting, being caught by the advisors, the reactions are perfect ... but there really is romance to it - its not just the sex between them.
