In my first try at this game I stumbled upon a quest to destroy the red lyrium deposists in the Hinterlands. But I when I restared the lyrum no longer was targetable. What do I have to do to make that happen again?

What do you mean by not targetable? Did the "destroy" option disappear even though its a lyrium deposit marked on the map, or is the option there but you're unable to do anything with it?

When I move my cursor over it the target to destroy it doesn't appear. This was at the Fort Connor where the rebel mages and templars are everywhere. Before I had that option but now it doesn't happen. The same thing is at the cave where that dwarven lyrium smuggler was supposed to be (southeast).

Maybe its a bug of sorts?

I know the option is there and I couldn't click it with a mage because you need a warrior to destroy it (I spent a good 5-10 minutes figuring this out once). Perhaps try to save and reload, or exit and re-enter the area?

You can also just hit them.

Try something AOE, like Immolate.

A mage? At this point I might stop the game until Christmast week and try again. There are so many sidequests here and I want to refocus on preparing to fight the bigge dragons.

I assume you don't happen to have any companion with an AoE targetable ability?  :pinched:

Wait, if you mean the magical b

I have Dorian with Immolate. But if you  guys mean the magical barrier protecting the cave that's not the problem.

Update. Okay. I think I know what's wrong .I need to converse with Varric first about red lyrium. Then it will initiate to "Seeing Red".

Yeah. That's it. Talk to Varric first.

I don't. AoE abilities can destroy various types of objects, and I think that applies to red lyrium. Nonetheless...

If you didn't have the quest, yeah, that's the issue.
