Harts vs. Halla, same thing?

I have an inquiry about the nature of Harts. Mostly I'm just confused as to whether or not all harts are halla or if there is some distinction. I know the Deluxe Edition of the game comes with a Red Hart Halla mount, but it, along with the first available Hart mount in the game, look very different from the Halla in origins. I suspect there must be some distinction, based on the developers not just calling the harts halla, but I can't be sure. As far as I know there has been no mention of harts in any of the previous Dragon Age titles, but perhaps hart is just a name for halla in the common tongue.

Not that this is of particular importance or anything, just something I'd like an answer too.

Hart is another way of staying stag. So a hart halla is a male halla.

EDIT: Unless they chose to use the word differently for some reason. *shrug*

Harts and halla aren't the same thing.  The Red Hart was mistakenly labeled a halla.

A hart is a (physically) mature buck, usually 4 or 5 years old.

A halla is a fictional creature unique to the setting.  I believe Laidlaw said it was just labeled incorrectly in the advertising.

ah, yeah I guess it was a bit of an oversight to assume Hart was a made up word, I should've tried googling it without dragon age in the search bar.

on a side note, does anyone know if there is a proper halla mount in the game? I'd love my elf to be riding one

I think later in the game you get access to a white hart that looks more like a halla from DA:O.
