It's only appropriate ... it's a different era and a different genre for dragon age ... the hero of ferelden eclipsed just as the original dragon age
I believe the reason not to include the warden wasn't something arbitrary ... they want to cut off any ties to DA:O so fans of the original and old schoolers stop asking for something similar and they let them develop their mmo in peace with a different player base ... this is electronic arts at it's finest which is so ironic cause most of their games are streamlined cash makers with no actual art involved

They tried that with hawk and we know how well that turn out.

Bringing the Warden back is problematic for that reason alone - you could choose to either live or die. If they bring the Warden back, they have to graphically ignore one camp. Letting the Warden be a mystery leaves it open to at least give both sides the chance to remain satisfied.

Nope awakening handled it just fine.

So, if you bring back the Warden ... what do you say to people who have dead Wardens? Lol, magic? They're going to be as annoyed as the people who killed Lelianna or other NPCs who suddenly saw them come back to life.

It's Bioware game, there is always someone to replace other. For this, that someone is the orlesian warden.

It would be okay if it didn't take 20 hours to complete this quest.

How about if the warden is the main character for DA:I with his equipment missing and level 1 because of the person who cause the accident stole it and we get them back late game as well as sealing his abilities until he gets it back due to will power.

I loved my Wardens as much as anyone, but these simply aren't his/her stories. I don't expect to seem them in-game, but the Devs could have been awesome and made a number of references to them, noting his/her importance in the DA Universe, but they decided rewarding fans of the Warden wasn't needed.

**Resists Hawke cheap shot**

Its time we Warden fans accept that the Devs just aren't going to throw Warden fans a bone. Nothing states this more than when you speak to Leliana about her past, and she doesn't even mention her part in taking down the blight and her association with the HOF.

HOF belongs to the ages.

I would love to play as the warden again! I too feel like it was a bit lackluster in regards to the warden not being around to help with this cataclysmic event - other than sending some item and a letter our way. Anyway, hoping to see a dlc or expansion that brings him back as the protagonist (or the orlesian warden if yours died). Doing this would allow him/her to come back as a npc in later games too, if they choose to.

"Dragon Age: Inquisition - The Calling" has a nice ring to it! Bioware make it happen! *Throws money at the screen*

In fact, she does speak of it, just not immediately.

There's all kinds of references to the the Hero of Ferelden in the story.  Sera mentions him in one conversation.  Cassandra talks about him a fair bit. Leilana complains about being separated by their different duties if an LI. Various townsfolk about him.

But if the HoF is alive, he or she has responsibilities.  The story explanation for why the HoF is not around is fine.

Also, the idea that the HoF is physically more powerful than anyone else is ridiculous.  After all, that Orlesian Warden stepped into his/her shoes pretty readily. Loghain was pretty nearly as badass even when 20-30 years older. All of his companions were badass on the same level.  He's a hero, he's not a god.

The Warden is *the* Hero because he and Alistair are the only ones with the magic gimmick to defeat the archdemon, not because he's the only one who could kill the dragon form.  The Inquisitor is *the* hero because of the Anchor. Not because no one else matches his prowess.

I like the warden and all, but he was just 'johnny on the spot' effectively.  If he's powerful and relevant, its because he's arl of amaranthine and/or king of Ferelden (or queen or mistress or whatever).

She does speak of her/him. In my playthrough, in fact, she speaks of her quite fondly and states that the world is much duller after her death. And no, they were not in a romance. That was sweet. Now I understand it might not be enough for those with a human noble warden who is supposed to be queen/prince consort of Ferelden. If you ask me, it was a mistake to allow that in the first place. But still you can't say that Inquisition ignores the existance of the Hero of Ferelden. I think you feel that way because you wanted more, but please try to keep things into perspective. It'll help you enjoying the game which is, in my humble opinion at 30 hours of gameplay and still no Skyhold, a very fine game indeed.

Kind of what I was thinking also. The calling is a huge part of this game in some ways, at least as the warden story line goes with them being controlled that way into thinking the calling is happening to them and they are in fact being controlled by Cory.  Getting to the bottom of the calling and perhaps off setting it, or making it more understandable and wardens less vulnerable to it, seems a vital task, or plot point, if not as a game at least a DLC.  People might have to accept a fairly generic male/female warden ala Hawke, or Orlesiean one if your warden died, but having them at least show up  a ala other npc's that have shown up would make a great deal of sense. Saying you wanted to create an entirely new character the warden could show up playing a role in that much as Liliana or Morrigan or Alistair do in this one.  Successful resolution would be said warden is able to a normal life be it as wife of someone or in wardens themselves, after all these wardens no matter how skilled etc, were people.  Heck a game about the calling could take the game North into the imperium IMHO because I think magic, the fade, so many things will go into solving the problems the calling presents.

Sorry OP, Bioware has stated since before DA2 was even released that the Warden's story was over. In fact, they told us that Witch Hunt was the end for him. Dragon Age is Thedas' story. As much as I love my Warden, I don't want him to come back.

Also, as a Blood Mage/Arcane Warrior, my Warden was practically a god haha I soloed on nightmare more often than not. I brought companions around for personal quests, or if I needed more approval. I admit, I jumped up and down in excitement when I started the search for him at the war table. Though, I hoped our search would be inconclusive.... Just giving me an amulet and saying "we found him, but didn't bring him in" doesn't quite fly with me.

Also, my Warden was kind don't of a douche... He was a blood mage that would do anything goes to gain power. He wiped out an entire clan of elves, put Dwarven souls to the anvil, and urged Avernus into continuing his research. My Inquisitor would probably have to kill him ;-)
