Custom Heroes Do Not Import to Inquisition?

So I noticed a problem with my Inquisition game which is pretty major.

Spoiler

There appears to be no way to change this in the game. In investigating what went wrong and if it was something I did by mistake, I looked at the worldstate I imported, and it is still as I left it, including still locked and with custom heroes. So that wasn't the problem.

However, when I copied the worldstate "based on the playthrough" into my editable states, neither of my custom heroes were there. My custom female rogue Cousland had been replaced by the default female rogue Cousland, but my custom rogue Hawke had been replaced by a default warrior Hawke.

Spoiler

Anyone else had this problem? And short of restarting, is there any way to fix this? It's worth mentioning that I pulled out my second playthrough "based on" worldstate after this to check it, and while my custom heroes had again changed to defaults, their genders, classes, and origins were correct.

Hey there, you can try this, which should resolve the issue (from our exporting guide's 'troubleshooting' section):

What to do if your custom Warden or Hawke is referenced in-game as the incorrect gender/race/class
First, check your playthrough state (following the steps here) to ensure you've exported your world state correctly and that you've set your preferences as you wanted them.
After doing so, go into the hero tiles for Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age II and change them to default heroes. Refresh the page, then return to those tiles and change them back to your desired custom heroes. After that, re-export your world state.

Hey, I've been having this same issue. I've done the above suggestion of changing to a default Hawke, refreshing, changing back to custom rogue Hawke, and re-exporting but I still always end up with a warrior Hawke in game (one that seems a bit more serious than I'd imagine a humorous Hawke to be so I'm not sure if that decision is exporting either). Is there any other way at all to fix this?

I followed all the steps, trying on a completely different worldstate with different custom heroes, and the custom heroes still did not transfer into the game. However, my rogue Aeducan and warrior Hawke at least transferred with the correct classes. Followed all the steps once again on the worldstate I originally exported and got messed up, and while at least this time my rogue Hawke stayed a rogue, custom characters did not import once again.

I assume there is no way to fix the class of my Hawke in the game I've already started, which is a shame, but it would be nice to know whether the replacement with default heroes is just how Keep handles custom heroes or whether it is unintentional.

I have the same problem. I have only one worldstate in which everything is as it should be but my custom hero just won't transfer! I've already tried 6 times and everytime i got a default hero but with the right decisions. i don't think the keep properly imports the worldstates, don't know what i should do... shall i live in a world where my Warden and Hawk have a false name in the records and in the memories of other people?

Names are not transferred into DAI. They also are not used anywhere.
