Custom Heroes Do Not Import to Inquisition?

So I noticed a problem with my Inquisition game which is pretty major.

Spoiler

There appears to be no way to change this in the game. In investigating what went wrong and if it was something I did by mistake, I looked at the worldstate I imported, and it is still as I left it, including still locked and with custom heroes. So that wasn't the problem.

However, when I copied the worldstate "based on the playthrough" into my editable states, neither of my custom heroes were there. My custom female rogue Cousland had been replaced by the default female rogue Cousland, but my custom rogue Hawke had been replaced by a default warrior Hawke.

Spoiler

Anyone else had this problem? And short of restarting, is there any way to fix this? It's worth mentioning that I pulled out my second playthrough "based on" worldstate after this to check it, and while my custom heroes had again changed to defaults, their genders, classes, and origins were correct.

Hey there, you can try this, which should resolve the issue (from our exporting guide's 'troubleshooting' section):

What to do if your custom Warden or Hawke is referenced in-game as the incorrect gender/race/class
First, check your playthrough state (following the steps here) to ensure you've exported your world state correctly and that you've set your preferences as you wanted them.
After doing so, go into the hero tiles for Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age II and change them to default heroes. Refresh the page, then return to those tiles and change them back to your desired custom heroes. After that, re-export your world state.
