Hello everybody,

i'm usually not into forums but this point really bothers me. I really wonder why nobody else mentioned it yet here. Only two options and one of them isn't even a follower!? But the game is really good, quite sad that you can complete the main story in 20 hours if you don't complete all MMO Quests (collect shards, close rifts, collect crafting mats. etc)

Oh, nice to see that most people share my opinion. Has bioware already answered how they going to solve this problem?

Although this is probably a troll thread, I will say that when I found out that there were only two, I was a bit...not upset, because I don't really care about the romance aspect of these games, but it just felt like a weird choice to make.  I went to go look at how many Origin's had just for reference, and was surprised to see there was only two choices there as well.  I thought there were more.

I bring this up because the only thing more annoying than posts about straight male love interests are posts saying "Ugh, here we go again," decrying the poster for some nefarious intentions in creating the thread.  Some people just forget there were only two in Origins as well.

There's no problem. Straight men get two, lesbians get two, gay men get two. The only ones who get more are Straight woman, they get an extra two, but they're both race gated.

They can't "solve" a "problem" of intentional game design, much in the same way that they didn't patch DA:O to give gay women any other choices besides Leliana. (No offense to Leliana fans; Morrigan was just so much better.)

I don't consider myself a part of any sort of social justice movement, but just because one is part of a majority doesn't mean one should expect a majority at all times. To my knowledge, there have always been more straight options than non-straight options in any game with romances available. Let 'em have this one, bud.

A game should be designed for the users and i'm pretty sure that most players are straight males and only a very small part is "non-straight".

That doesn't matter. It's a role-playing game. What percentage of the game's users would you estimate are elves?

You know if it was the LGBT community complaining about Cassandra's unavailability, I think the response would be entirely different.

Straight people not liking their straight options? Suck it up and deal with it hetero's....gay people not liking their gay options? Start up the Tumblr Social Justice WAR MACHINE!

Edit: I also wasn't going to reply to this post because of the redundant content of it, but the wicked boomerang intolerance I'm seeing in regards to peoples opinion on this subject is kind of frustrating.

While I have no problems with homosexuals I would rather not see such interactions.

My issue with the options:

Cassandra: As someone else pointed out, she doesn't respect your religious beliefs.  Pretty much an instant turn off.

Josephine: Not a party member, which means less time spent with her.  BioWare romances have always felt very rushed, and that's with characters you can at least assume you're getting to know on the road/during adventures.  I doubt the non-party member romances will feel organic at all, though admittedly I suppose I shouldn't assume that until I've seen it unfold.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but does the message "Cassandra Disapproves" come up when you say you don't believe in the Maker?

If a gay person was complaining about their options, I would say the exact same, to suck it up and deal with it.  I have multiple times in the past, in fact.

Everyone gets at least 2 options.  Some people get a few more options.  If you care more about what OTHER people get, then that's your own damn problem, and a petty one.  If you don't like your options, that's also your own damn problem, not something Bioware needs to fix so that you can feel loved by that EXACT special, virtual someone that you want.
