I need to get past them to finish Blackwall's quest, but it says I need a special key or mechanism to open it. Anyone know what I need?

If it's a mechanism, look for the lever. If you can't find it then you would need probably find a way to the other side.

Are levers usually on the wall/building, or somewhere else?
