Apologies for posting in here but this seems to be a very active part of the ME forums..... So I have to ask in here.

 

Is ME 3 multiplayer dead?

 

I tried it last night and I was the only player on the Rio and London maps......... It felt really lonely playing by myself.

What platform are you playing on? What difficulty? Do you have all the free DLCs(Retaliation, Resurgence, Rebellion, Reckoning, Earth)? If the answer to that last one is no, you're very limited in who you can play with, since the game with only pair you with people who have the same DLCs installed. They are all free, so if you don't have them yet, get them ASAP.

 

Destiny carved a little into MP, as did the new DA:IMP, but for the most part, it's still going strong. I almost never have problems finding people to play with, on Silver and Gold. Haven't touched Bronze in ages, since it's just too easy. I'm on PS3, where we were also hit by Destiny. If you're PC(I believe you mentioned as much), that shouldn't be an issue.

 

EDIT: the multiplayer part of the forum is also still very much active... maybe you can look for a few people to play with there?

Well, get it all Because I'm pretty sure nobody nowadays is missing any of them and if you are, you can't play with them. Then go down to MP section of the forum and check a few threads, I'm sure you can find a few people that will be willing to play with you. This one might be of particular interest to you. And you can always post your own.

Definitely need all and not almost all. Other than that PC is still pretty active, I don't have any trouble finding a game. Maybe a bit less active very recently due to Dragon Age: Inquisition but certainly not empty.

Starting a game solo there's always been a chance that it won't fill up, that's been the case ever since it started. There seem to be some rules about how it tries to fill games (when people do turn up it'll often be all three empty slots in a short space, particularly if the game is already going).

Nope, it's not empty. And by next year, it probably won't be empty by then. I'd give it till 2016 and see if it is still active.

I been playing it almost daily for a little while now on PC without much fuss. SOMETIMES it can feel like its taking a long time to find a match but then I just cancel and retry. For some reason that usually jump starts it.

PC here and still kicking ass, althought now with DA:I it seems that the amount of players is a bit more...odd. There are times no one entered the lobby I was hosting and I had to join one, and times that it filled up in seconds.

I couldn't find many games at first until I installed all the free multiplayer dlc.

Kinda impressed that it still seems to be going strong, even with Destiny and DA:I being out for a while now (though I prefer the gameplay of ME3 myself).

Destiny has the maps you travel through and boss fights, but ME3 still has more variety within its more limited horde mode gameplay. I find myself switching on ME3 more than Destiny for multiplayer.

I am playing on PS3 and there ain't much of a problem finding a game. May it be on bronze, silver or gold...

Actually I've noticed it's getting a little harder to find a Gold game on PS3 lately. (Platinum seems to be still the same though.)

 

Different time zones perhaps.
