I just got DAI and got it for the MP, come from hundreds of hours of ME3 MP and want to know what's the best way to start the MP off, like how was your first MP play through? I know it's not ME3 but if Bioware can capture 75% of the fun i had in ME3 then I will be more than satisfied. Thanks folks

I've already dropped DAMP & started me3mp again. For me it wasn't 1/4 the fun of me. If it is unopened I recommend returning it. Otherwise good luck.
thats unfortunate, yeah I opened it already and played about an hour of SP to get the feel for the controls and combat. Well I will just give it a try and hopefully in the near future they make some changes to improve it. I know not to expect ME3mp because the play is different but I was just holding out hope that they would be able to recreate some if it.

I share the same feeling. The DAMP falls very short (right now) if you are comparing it to the ME3MP.
They tried to mimic the ME3 type gameplay and I feel like it just won't stand up.
I didn't get into ME3MP until a few years after it already being out, so I don't if it felt as unpolished as DAMP currently does. I am hopeful it will get better or I'll get used to it. But it's defnitly not an upgrade to ME3MP.

Its pretty understandable when someone unsatisfied with things game provides. But such moaning surpasses any healthy reason.

First off, find a team. Add people from BSN or reddit and make friends. This game is more team focused than me3mp. Second of all, stick together. You can't just run off an do your own thing and get away with it like in me3. thirdly, have fun! Try not to listen to the few people on BSN who hate everything, especially if its new. The gameplay is brilliant and if you enjoyed me3mp then you will definitely enjoy this, assuming you like the fantasy genre.

I keep posting to warn others. Some will love it & I recommend the SP. So no, I don't hate new things. I love new things unless they aren't good. And are broken. If you want a good MP game play me3. I'm about to play now, look me up
Then get out of the multiplayer forums if you don't like it. Nobody here wants to hear you complaining all the time.

I disagree. DAMP is good but like you said not as good as ME3. Its a dungeon crawler that's clearly taken inspiration from Diablo and Skyrim. I personally love it and plan to no life it the way I did Mass Effect 3. Its simply different than Mass Effect but still very good in its own right.

Some random tips for starting out:
-STICK TOGETHER. You WILL fail if you run off and do your own thing.
-damp adheres to the holy trinity. Unless you're playing with all geared and experienced players, you will not have any success without at least one tank and healer. Two tanks is doable. Two healers is easymode (since healers can also dps)
-these forums have a healthy supply of crybabies. Try your best to ignore them.
-don't click on healing fonts unless your team actually needs them. They can, and should, be saved. Especially the final one, since it can be used during the boss fight and the room it's in makes the best chokepoint for the fight as well.
-don't play archer. And don't try to tell me "but zomg my dps!!!!" - I don't care and you bring nothing to the group that someone else couldn't bring plus more. The class is overplayed and you'll be better off not having 3 in your group.
-if you enjoy tanking, legionnaire is easy to succeed with, without amazing gear. If you have a keeper giving you barrier, you can use your invulnerability ability when the barrier drops, have a full second health bar of guard, and be basically invincible the whole time while aoe taunting everything to you.
-if you enjoy everyone loving you, but don't enjoy tanking, keeper is also a great low gear choice. Get every barrier-related ability/passive (except the one that freezes when it's destroyed. It's not very useful since most of the time it isn't destroyed at all, just expires. And usually if it is destroyed, it's by archers, who won't be affected) and practice where and when to cast it to maintain 100% uptime on as many people as Possible. The passives that reduce all your cooldowns (one from basic attacks, one from spells) will also help a lot.
-don't open treasure doors when enemies are still attacking, even if they're far away. So many groups wipe because someone got door-happy and aggrod a bunch of spiders when 6 archers were still attacking the group. Don't be that guy.
-if you're ranged and want to initiate a pull, use an aoe ability and then immediately hide behind something. Don't force the keeper to barrier you or let you die. By aoeing and then hiding, you can alleviate some of the stress on your tank and let your other group members mop up some kills on melee who are running to you and not attacking anyone, while your tank grabs aggro on the ranged.
-after unlocking classes like necromancer and elementalist, don't be afraid to go full crowd control spec instead of full dps. They are incredibly useful since in higher difficulties enemies WILL 1-2 shot people.
-And finally, you're going to feel pretty weak at the start. That's normal. It takes a while to become really strong. Just keep at it, even if you lose, because you're still getting gold and exp and getting closer to becoming the hero that you want to be.
Oh, and get a Mic. But don't have a ton of background noise.
