Look in the tree & you can choose abilities to add +cunning. A great ideas is to add 10 cunning. That should give you more health. Or it nay increase your armor between 1 and 30 points. And each 10 point of increased armor mean enemies hit you for somewhere between 1 an 20 points of damage less.
Sorry, cunning actually helps you open chests. How much health does the reaver have?
