Greetings,

Much has been said about the difficulty in controlling melee characters and the stupidity of the mob AI (Varric, stop trying to stab enemies with your crossbow!).  So I suggest the following Behaviour options:

1:  Flank <name> target.  Like it says on the tin, the character will try to move behind the selected character's target before attacking.

2:  Keep at range.  The character will try to stay outside melee range of the nearest enemy.

Your thoughts?

Or you could simply instruct your companions to "Hold Position" just outside of the expected area of melee engagement...

Yeah, didn't DAO have that option?

It's pretty annoying when ranged fighters like mages and archers deliberately charge into a group of enemies.
For multiple times, Sera rushed into enemies so I was like "oh, is she trying to use poison gas?" But, nope. She used a full shot at point blank range.

Hold position doesn't work either. They just follow you around.

We had all these in Dragon Age Origin, and Dragon Age 2.

They were removed from Dragon Age Inquisition.

Yeah.. its too bad there will likely never be any mod support for DA:I, otherwise we could get a mod like "Even More Advanced Tactics" for DA:O.

http://www.nexusmods...age/mods/4096/?

Would love to see that level of customization in DA:I...

Hold Position would be good in some cases if it actually worked. I can’t get it to work reliably outside of Tactical View (and FTS, really, it’s horrible).

Having the behaviors from DA:O would be very handy. I want my shield-wielder to be Defensive, and archers Ranged. I like Flank too. I’d also possibly like to Protect Mage (not every one separately).
