I want the mage gameplay from Dragon Age Origins back. My Qunari mage, with +20(and some more) Konstitution and +80(and some more) max health is weak as the other mages and takes the same damage like the others. I don't want the clichés mages that not even can survive an arrow.

Give me back the arcane warrior, heavy armor with mage boni, mighty swords , schilds and so on. PLEASEEE  :(

and don't forget the heal magic. I miss the Dragon Age Origins gameplay. no clichés.

If only there was much chance of that happening.

I am one of the many (I think vast majority) that much preferred DA:O over DA2.  DA:I has not impressed me to to buy.

"klischees"?

But I agree. Currently playing a mage and it's so... Underwhelming. You either use barriers or an element. So far, actually, pretty much all the class talents seem kinda dull...

Oh sorry.

Klischees means clichés on german. xD

I used Disney Hercules "I want say Im in love" and ther sounds cliché like Klischee in german.

btw. read my Arcane Warrior ideas

Not sure on SP. Since I just got to Skyhold. But Arcane Warrior is in the game. At least in multiplayer. If it isn't in single player, to add it they would have to figure how's to do it in a lore friendly way.

I think you're meant to get a specialization after a certain point, as a mage, to be either an Arcane Warrior, a Necromancer, or a Fade-thingy with Solas...

EDIT: RIFT MAGE! HE'S A RIFT MAGE! lol

EDIT 2: There are 3 unlockable specializations for each class, and each are represented in each companion - hence 9 companions.

You need to have develop your team with the proper  abilities. I'm at level 6, in the Hiterlands with Vivienne, Sara, Cassandra. This group has two mages, an archer and a tank.

Abilities BARRIER and GUARD is a MUST to survive.  BARRIER acts like a shield and Guard is like extra health. Cass is almost invincible (at this level anyway) because she has triple protection. Like an onion, the enemy must peel away those layers, before starting to hurt her.

Both I and Vivienne spam BARRIER (from Spirit tree) during combat. Cassandra generates GUARD when she fights, because of the way she is specced. Sara has the left side of the Archer tree developed along with Stealth. The left side allows for a "jump back" ability that takes her away from danger and the stealth ability makes her invisible.

Good guide on how to generate GUARD here:

Good luck

I always play as a mage and this time I played as Knight Enchanter and it was great. AT last mages are mobile, deal damage and can be supports.

Hitting things with arcane blade is especially satisfiyng.

Well, I think there should be one specialization for each class it is not used by a companion. An unique spec for the Inquisitor, next to the Inquisitor tree, would make him more unique

I vote for the good old Arcane Warrior

No. You can't have options. You can't think about your build and be creative in how you build it. That's too hard for casuals. We must protect the money source from thinking, they play only to relax. We cannot let them be challenged. The only decision they must make is which attack button to press and how many times to press it.

Knight Enchanter is good as hell, like the Arcane Warrior. It just isn't as awesome as AW because you have to play (could let my AW fighting alone in DAO and she would win almost any fight), but it's very fun and against a dragon my KE survived best than any Warrior.

I have no idea why they didn't allow us attribute allocation. It's so mediocre in its current state. Did they think what diablo 3 did was innovative? Yeah, so innovative that I refunded that game.

I have no idea what biowares problem is but the dragon age origins combat system/control system and skills/attribute system was nearly flawless in design.

This design compared to origins its just a downgrade in almost every way. There is absolutely nothing innovative about it and it really is a design downgrade compared to origins. The only thing inquisition does better is level design, bigger areas, and better graphics.
