I really like the sound of the Artificer spec, mainly for role-play reasons. I was originally planning to go with a dual-wielder, but recent comments on the forums about melee rogues have made me doubt that idea. So... a couple of questions.
- I've heard rumours that ability damage is based off your weapon's dps rather than base weapon damage. Is this true? Also, does anyone have any idea if when dual wielding that weapon damage is based on one dagger, or both?
- With the above in mind, will an archer's traps do miles less damage compared to a dual wielders?
- Has anyone had any success with an Artificer build, whether ranged or not?
- Anyone have any advice on how to build one?
On a related note, does anyone know if poison damage stacks? i.e. each new hit adds even more damage over time, or whether it's just one "poisoned" state at once. And in general, what do people think about poison? Worth the investment?
