I don't get what ever happened to the gambit system that was on the previous dragon age games, why was it not put into this game when the AI basically NEEDS it to actually function? so far I've had to disable just about all skills from being auto used by the AI because they use them in the most stupid ways ever.
Such as - my own character proceeded to use his Leaping shot because a mob passed him that wasn't even agros on him...down a cliff and off of the vantage point against the other enemies, whereas if I had the gambit system I would of set it to only use it if he was being attacked/surrounded by 3 melee enemies, the same goes with skills like Caltrops that I'd like to use on Varric if he's surrounded by some melee mobs so he can auto use it and if I see him taking hits then I make him run back, I'd like cassandra to use warcry when there's 3+ mobs within melee range or if theres x amount of enemies on x ally, it's all of these things that made DA1 and 2 such a smooth and fun experience and made the AI actually useful, instead I have to babysit every single fight to the point where it feels like I'm playing a board game with the amount of pausing I'm having to do to set them up.
Then there's missing functions like the ability to tell each individual member to stand the hell still, I did this in DA2 so I could have my 2 rouges stealth behind into some enemies before initiating fights and having my other 2 members engage after, yet I can't do any of this anymore because it seems that Bioware just took a giant **** on the functionality of the game and fights have turned into a giant pain in the ass, it's bad enough that the control system is horrible but then couple this with the fact that AI are working off of very basic functions that I'm no longer controling 1 person and monitering and occasionally switching characters to deal with things...no, now it's I'm having to fully control all 4 characters and making sure that they don't go full retard mode and charge head first into enemies which includes my range characters because perhaps a wall is in the way, and by god having them stand still is a chore and a half.
Please Bioware, patch this **** into the game because I've never had such an uncomfortable experience in an RPG ever..
