Hi all,

i was walking around the lake in the west side of the Hinterlands and I found a body with a letter. It contains instructions on how to summon her/his Grandpa, circling three times around a near statue. When I try to do that, clockwise, nothing happens. Do I need a particular character in the party to summon it (I had Solas as a mage) or is this a bug?

Thanks!

This worked for me on the first try. I was definitely not close enough all the time to touch the statue with the hand as the instructions said so it seems to be pretty forgiving.

I did it with my mage inquisitor. Perhaps you need to do it with your quizzie and not a companion?

What I did was start at the banner you place, then walk around it making sure the right side of my PC was against the stone as much as I could.  You might make your companions hold position away from you, they annoyingly get in the way

Tried this for 30 minutes, moving really slowly with the right hand closer to the stone as much as I could, but with no luck :( Tried also to change map and then go back to hinterlands several times, I think that this is a bug that Bioware should solve...

Everyone who has problems, what system are you on?  I'm on PS3 and did it twice in a row due to dying after the first time, it worked perfectly for me.

I'm on PC too, but it worked properly the first time for me. I did stay as close to the statue as I could, if that matters.

Took a few tries to get right. I don't think you need to be as close to the statue as it says in the letter because I ran around my annoying part members as well. Perhaps the registration box is farther than it seems and being too close to the statue actually resets the cycle?

I think mine is bugged. I ran around the damned thing like 6 times and nothing!

I've done it with two separate characters, and didn't have any problems - for the record this is on Xbone.

Make sure you're circling the statue and not the gravestone....

Well I give up on this quest for now I guess.  I have gone around the statue so many times inch by inch but still nothing.  I tried the main character and another just in case and nothing.  I also seem to have an issue with the ivy that keeps me from being too close to the statue.  I think this is an issue that needs to be fixed for the pc.

Might be me, but I do not remember there being much ivy on the statue. I started on my right hand side of the statue, that is if I was facing the front side of the statue. I walked slowly clockwise around the statue sort of like I was trying to walk into the walk thing making three and a half full orbits and it worked. I am on a 360.

I'm on ps4 and when I did it I just casually ran around it without being careful to be close to it or keep a certain speed at all, it worked for me.

This was weird for me. I had to walk against it and I went the wrong way. So I had to turn around. I can't remember if it was counter clockwise or clockwise. You have to be right next to the tree.

you have to be almost touching the statue at some point but it doesnt appear you have to stay touching it as i had to move out of the way of companions and it still worked for me.
