So I think this bug has been posted several times, I'm really surprised this isn't on the first page.

After you

Spoiler
, the game will switch your inquisitor's voice to the default one for your race, which in my case means a different one...

Now really, I was absolutely mind-blown until that point, just too much awesomeness to deal with, and now all of a sudden, my playthrough is broken. There's no way I can resume at the moment.

If I wait for the next patch, chances are... all the magic of this game will be gone by then, cause I'm not reastically hoping to see that happen any time soon.

Surely there must be some trick to make it so that myself and other people who are in the same position can resume their playthrough.

Like a save editor just for that variable, or a console command.

If you're having the same problem as I do, and can't resume your playthrough, make yourself heard here please!

To be honest, this makes me feel very sad for some unexplained reason.

So please, BW, your game has been nothing but amazing so far, I just want to carry on with it, before the excitement fades away.

I ran into the exact same problem today! Recreated my Hawke and suddenly my dwarf's voice was way too deep. Luckily i took screenshots of all the sliders, but it there's no workaround for this, I'm unable to do Hawke's quest at all. No way I'm playing with that other voice now.

Same thing happened to me too. At the moment I was too preoccupied with how odd Hawke looked in the new game, but then I suddenly noticed my Inquisitor's voice switched to the default option. I personally was more confused than sad, because I actually regretted my original choice. But this is surely a bug and something must be done about it.

Like a save editor just for that variable, or a console command.

That doesn't help those of us on consoles, this really needs an urgent patch.

I have the same issue - I'm doing side quests/exploration for now and avoiding speaking to Varric or doing the main quest, hopefully this'll get fixed some time this week because I need to advance the main story at some point.

Been dealing with the same problem. I've been looking for anything to fix it--console commands, save editing, but no dice so far. I'm busying myself with side quests, hoping a patch will come out in the meantime, because I can't continue the main story like this. But I don't know how optimistic to be. If I run out of side quests before they patch it, well--I'll probably just stop playing until they do I guess. I care too much about my characters and this makes the game unplayable for me.

UPDATE : well, I'll be trying some save editing magic...

Wish me luck. Will be sure to post here if I find anything interesting.

I don't know if this would help console players unfortunately.

It happened to me too. Unfortunately, I caught it a bit late, and my autosave before the meeting got overwritten, so my only chance now is to wait for a patch. I have been looking around for any console commands or editors to fix this problem and haven't found anything (although I have no expertise in that area).

Bioware could mod/patch in The Mirror of Transformation(object with an action/interact) from DA2's Black Emporium, so we could change the voice back, or modify our character should we feel the need to.

This would help indeed...
I'm running out of side quests and I was unsuccessful at editing save files. As for replacing audio files, this would require extracting and repacking...
Not exactly what I had in mind when I thought I'd play DA:I.

There's another thread here: http://forum.bioware...h-voice-actors/

about this very topic, in "Scuttlebutt" for some strange reason, be sure to make yourself heard there too.

It seems that it only occurs some of the time. I had luck with saving just before talking to Varric and customizing Hawke. And if it changed I would reload. Never had to reload more than once or twice. Not exactly a fix, more like random luck :P But it may work for others so I figured why not?

You better not be lying. I'm gonna try a good few times and test my luck.

It happened to me as well, in the middle of talking to my customized Hawke, and went from American Voice to English voice in middle of conversation was really weird. My game never broke though I was still able to continue on even though I couldn't get her voice back to what it was before

I can't wait. I'm just going to skip that part. I love this game and Bioware but it's always something with them.

Either it's the Isabella bug or the Shepard import appearance in ME3. Hopefully we can get a patch next week.

PS4 by the way.

Yeah I have the same problem. I want my Hawke to kinda look like Hawke from my playthrough in DA2, and when the voice changes the voice of my character in Inquisition, I have no other option than to await with the story further untill a patch is released to hopefully fix the issue. At least I got tons of quests, and shards and exploration to do in low level areas! :P

Add me to the pile of people who are now stuck and can't (read: won't) proceed until this bug gets fixed. It's a complete emersion breaker.

PC Platform, Human Female Mage, American voice to start.

For a game that put so much focus on character customization, this is really one hell of an embarrassment. I'm still a bit stunned this one wasn't caught earlier on in alpha testing. Nobody customized Hawke while using an alt voice? Really?

Sorry. I don't mean to sound pissy. I'm just frustrated.

I was hoping I wouldn't get this bug, but I have...

PC, Dwarf Female Rogue, originally British voice. Then I meet Hawke and boom, American. So disconcerting. I really, really hope this gets fixed soon. I'll probably avoid Varric until it does.

There is no way this bug was not seen before shipping. No way.

Only work around for this bug on console that I know of is by picking the default Hawke. Just tried it and no voice change. Only downside is if you wanted to use a custom version of Hawke.

The deafult Hawke looks quite different to my Hawke and I only made cosmetic changes to her in DA2. But if a patch doesn't come out soon, I'll likely bite the bullet and move on.

I have the same problem.. I hope they fix this soon. I tried playing with the different voice and it is just too ridiculous to do.

It was crazy, first I jumped from happiness, to recreate my Hawke, followed by this disapointing bug

They were aiming for the 9th but looks like most platforms will not get it by then. Suggests that some will though.
