So really starting to get into it, when it's not lagging. Some issues

I spent the day yesterday cleaning my computer and doing everything imaginable to try to run the game smoother. It worked somewhat, but I'm still seeing a lot of lagging and freezing. It takes ages to load, and the cut-scenes are pretty choppy. Note that my PC meets the minimum system requirements, all my drivers are up-to-date, and I've installed the new nvidia driver.

SO, Dragon Age is generally my favorite game ever, so any criticism that comes from me is only owing to the fact that I love it so much and want to see it improved.

The Bioware team has done a lot of good so far. Some of the things I've been dying to see since DA:O are: Open world! Mounts! Multiplayer! So many dreams have become a reality for me in this game.

The new lore is also very interesting, and so is the main character's dialogue. I'm very happy with this game on several scores.

HOWEVER, there are some features that seem less instinctive and more clunky. Many people have articulated some of these points much better than me, but I am adding my voice to theirs.

- The looting is terribly annoying, and so is the search option. I can never tell which direction the loot is in, and I end up making myself dizzy trying to find it. I miss the toggle option for that.

- The tactical camera view used to be so much better in previous games, where it gave us a much higher vantage point and less encumbrance by trees and some of the other lovely landscape element. It's very annoying when I can't see what is happening behind a bush and my character is taking damage all the while. Also, when you're in tactical camera mode, you can't look up! Why?!

- Although I am enjoying the fact that potions are free and unlimited (every time you return to camp), and although the new crafting options are very interesting, they used to give the player a lot more freedom in previous games.

- Level up: What happened? There used to be so many more options and customizability. You got to decide pretty much everything about your character. I used to put so much thought into level-up and was able to have my characters exactly the way I wanted them. A bit disappointed with that

- Specializations: have they been axed? Or have I just not unlocked them yet? They were so much fun in DA:O! Please bring them back!

- There are some bugs in the side-quests which prevent completing the side-quests: a) the druffalo you're supposed to find and lead back to its pasture in Redcliffe gets stuck midway near your camp and won't follow you anymore! I have not tried reloading yet, but I hope it fixes the problem. B) one of the astrariums (astraria?) is showing a constellation different from the picture you're supposed to get. A couple of the stars are not where they should be, making it impossible to recreate the pattern. c) Leliana seems to think that both Hawke twins are alive. I did not think that was a possible outcome in DA2. This is not really a major issue, but it's a bit confusing.

That being said, please please please make a patch. The game could be so much smoother and faster. That is the main change I would like to see. I have gotten to the point where the game was virtually unplayable. Choppiness, lagging, slow loading time, and freezing every few seconds can't be part of the experience. I am willing to try to get used to all the new features and decisions that were made if I can play the game long enough!
