Ok, I just completed and recruited the Templars as allies. I met Dorian but didn't do the mages quest (obviously). Is it still possible for me to recruit Dorian? I'm scared going further into the game until I get a definite answer.

I assume you can, he will probably show up in the next HQ you will get.
I havent supported the Templars and i got Cole (which i assume is a Templar specific ally) later.
I think its the same with Dorian.
