To answer your question Brogan, and other people's too, the reason I "don't put" these great ideas on the list is because they already are in one way or another. So yeah, read the list before saying something is not there please. The list is made so it's mainly one line per thing. I don't go too deep on each point because it would become a mess. So i'm sure when you read :

  • Improve inventory management and control mapping for all platforms. (adding D-Pad control for example)

You can guess it means we all want the option to add control mapping! Thank you all for participating and giving your feedback! :)

Yea, sorry, I don't think you or I know what a Bioware dev is going to "guess" when he scans these posts, especially if these 2 extremely important items are buried behind 'Inventory Management', halfway down in your 'Crafting' section.

More than likely he's skimming, trying to gather as much info in as little time possible.  Why would you force him to guess what you mean.....

Those 2 items are extremely important to a vast majority of pc gamers.  They need to be up front and spelled out.  Period.

I know the list is messy and I will work on it soon, sort it all out. The thing is, I don't care if people repeat or clarify what has already been said and I explained why I try to keep it simple and short. I don't force anyone to do anything, but if he actually read the post, as it is clearly mentioned he should when you open the post, he would've seen what I meant.

And yeah "Those 2 items are extremely important to a vast majority of pc gamers." Well you know, most problems affect EVERY player across ALL PLATFORMS. Please stop talking like pc gamers have "extremely important things to fix". I also mentioned this in the initial post. What we want is a fix. Not a PC fix. Not a 360 fix. Not a PS4 fix. A fix for every platform. I just want everyone to be able to enjoy the game, that's it. Anyway, I still like any feedback I can get and i'm sorry if I don't have the time to work it all out right now, but I will. I will try to make each point clearer too when I do work on it.

I stopped playing the game for now in Hinterlands as the controls prevent me from truly enjoying the game.

For PC version, click to move/attack/loot.

This can not be implemented fast enough.

Understood, and yes, I know how difficult it is to try to maintain a list like this, especially when you get no official confirmation that the work you're putting in makes any difference.  (We all hope it does)

However, keep in mind, you are the author of the thread.  You have the right to organize it the way you think is best.  You have the right to re-word things, you have the right to edit the thread title, the headings in order to get the info relayed the easiest, or if you want to focus on a specific group of fixes, etc.

There are 2 other main threads like this currently on this sub.  I would suggest looking them over, even contacting the authors if you feel the need.  Ultimately, I would hope all 3 are able to be utilized by the Bioware dev who is tasked with gathering this info.  This first patch is going to be immensely important for everyone involved.

I think we definitely need mobs lvl scaling... Leave minimum levels at the location, but increase with the level of the player. Did someone suggest it already?

Had the subtitles off, and when my Dalish Inquisitor heard others speak ... well, Dalish/Elf, they weren't automatically translated. Frankly, they should be.

Maybe not for Humans, Dwarves, or Qunarri (doesn't really matter to me), but for Elves, I think they should be translated regardless.

Just a thought.

I'm not sure if it belongs under Combat or if we need a specific Camera section, but:

  • Make obstacles transparent or translucent when they obscure the view of characters. This applies to structures, terrain, and trees and increases the usefulness of the tactical view or when zoomed out.

IMO: Detach how an armor (or weapon) looks from the schematic. Make design a part of the schematic, and then you can find/buy/unlock various designs for your armors and weapons, and you can use the one you find most appealing. After all, the game is mostly about killing things and looking awesome while doing it. Please let me look awesome without being shoehorned into a specific schematic or item I may or may not want to use.

Didn't read the whole thread, but OP does not mention anything like this, so here goes.

Since the game does not have some sort of face code for your inquisitor, I would find something like this extremely helpful for recreating my characters.

Spoiler

Sorry for the lame job in Paint, but you get the idea.

Adjust late game difficulty on hard and nightmare. Game can get trivial after specialization. It may be an unpopular opinion but some abilities may need to be nerfed, or the encounter difficulty raised. Normal difficulty can stay the same.

Some zones feel empty. Raise the number of encounters.

Some dungeons feel empty, raise the number of encounters in dungeons.

Allow more environmental strategies and spell combos like Origins or Divinity. Maybe oil pots you can knock over and set ablaze, Lightning does more damage and has aoe in water. Ice spells can freeze water for aoe immobilize. Use the frostbite engine for destructible environments. We should be able to set cabins on fire or cause rockslides.

Origins had some interesting encounters where you could speak to your enemies and avoid combat. Most Enemies in DA:I feel like MMO mobs, just there to be killed. As a happy medium have enemies yell at you and your companions similar to games like the last of us, where enemies are more and more afraid of you depending on your progress in the game. Have them speak to one another when you are near them in stealth and talk about the things you have done. You should be able to open optional wartable missions doing this. Have enemies react to certain party members. Make the combat feel more personal even if its an illusion. Enemy banter should reveal their complex motivations that could open up other missions.

Each map with a capturable fortress should have RTS like mini games that allow you to take a commander role where your agents and their troops can be deployed to defend against periodic zone wide invasions. There can be different rewards here that would generally improve the Agent units and Keep defenses. You could find siege weapon and tower schematics that would require quarries and logging stands to build. These scenarios could be procedurally generated keeping things interesting after the endgame. Keep defenses and Agents would also be at risk in these scenarios potentially lowering your influence and locking you out of previously purchased inquisition perks, but also would open up other side missions giving you an incentive to not just reload after a loss. A weakened keep would act somewhat like the bonfire ascetic in Dark souls and increase the level and number of mobs in the zone. You may intentionally weaken your keeps in this way to get a more difficult game.

This could open up some interesting gameplay loops for DLC. You could have potential party companions that would first be recruited as an agent, then trained and improved in the Keep defense game until you get the option to recruit them as a party member. Maybe in this way you could get a Mabari hound as a 5th character or a flying mount.

You could have alternate focus abilities for your inquisitor that would be 'researched' from research points that you get from building mage towers in your keeps, or warrior focused focus abilities researched from barracks or Thief focus abilities from building thieves guilds etc... Have each keep only have a certain number of building slots adding some strategy to what you build. The closer you get to a key ability research the more likely you are to be invaded.. etc.

I wish the Hinterlands were much larger, and had continuous content all the way up through level 20.

I wish Elfroot was required in ALL crafting recipes, even swords.

I wish sex scenes showed full-on pornographic penetration, with options for camera angles.

I wish nipple color, size, and shade were customizable features in the Character Creator.

I wish you wore your tan pajamas everywhere in the game, not just Skyhold.

I wish there were more options for mounts, including druffalo, griffins, dragons, and The Iron Bull.

I wish I had the option to just literally murder everyone I see without consequence.

I wish warriors could equip staves.

I wish every single character in the game had a full, well-written, detailed romance arc, including Horsemaster Dennet, Mother Giselle, Corypheus, and Requisition Officer.

I wish every single decision ever made in previous games was given a full, worthy associated quest chain. For example, the questline with Ghenya and Cammen should have at least 200 lines of recorded dialogue and a boss battle, for each version of the quest, based on decisions made back in Origins.

I wish we could have combat pets again, such as mabari, crows, dragonlings, and The Iron Bull.

I wish I had the option to play as (or romance) previous protagonists, such as the Warden, the Warden-Commander, Hawke, the Hurlock Vanguard, and Revan.

I wish the game had a super-cinematic difficulty setting, where you make no decisions and press no buttons, and just watch the Inquisitor make his own decisions. Like a 50-hour-long movie, with the Inquisitor doing all the things a player would do, including sidequests and gathering of Elfroot and continually checking his companions to see if they have anything new to say (they don't).

I wish I could think of a good suggestion to end this list on.

Ability to export or save face presets to use in new games. Or ability to replace current list of preset faces.

Make all current beards better, add more hair and beard options. More tattoo options.

A "Solo mode" where we can toggle on/off the feature that teleports our part members to us, when they're too far away and stops them from following the player.  This was a feature in a number of earlier Bioware games and it's something I've always found rather useful.  Would be cool to see make a return.  :)

Add:

Body Slider in CC, not just cleavage.  Adjust muscle mass, height, weight.

Improved Hair AND beards.  Allow hair & beards to be altered with sliders, like facial features are. At the very least, allow us to move them a little so we can adjust our hair line and attach beards to faces.  No more 'Sir Floaty Beard"  ( Real character BTW )

Gameplay/story:  Allow EVIL or... 'less good' player choices.  Why do we always have to be the Paragon of Purity?  I want to be 'bad' sometimes.   Why is walking into a villagers home and 'looting' their sack of goodies acceptable??

Healing Magic back into the game.

Co-op Single-Player campaign.  Allow my friends to control my party members.

I forgot to add.

Remove exploding enemies, unless there is a good reason to explode. Every enemy should not explode as if I hit them with a mass effect weapon.

Add BACK the fatalities like DA:O had. Sword & Board had some great killing blows. Take some notes from AOC and Skyrim.

I've looked at the lists and didn't really see anything along the lines of what I want to put forward for the inventory. On PC, I feel it could be made better.

The overlay showing the comparison between equipped and highlighted weapon/accessory is annoying, as it covers the list of items. There's a bit black space above that it would fit in perfectly. Then the overlays wouldn't be covering the list of items or the numbers showing effectiveness. If they were in ascending order, then I would know the lowest was at the top/bottom. But I keep having to move the cursor to and from a lot to compare and then look at the list for where to click next. Showing the overlays above and cycling with the arrow keys would be a lot better, I feel.

Items should be able to be grouped. Mage rings, warrior rings, rogue rings. Or, even better, it could hide the items I can't use on that particular char. I have to go through 20 rings that I can't use for a character, when there's no need.

I also feel it'd be better if the currently equipped item wasn't even in the list. Why would it need to be? It's on us. Half the time I'm about to compare it with itself.

The arrow keys to cycle between chars could be replaced by 4 character icons. I keep clicking one way, and it goes the other. I could choose who I want quicker this way, like how we do when fighting.

The last thing is it'd be nice if the map zoom level could stay where we leave it. I keep having to zoom out every single time. I like it fully out.

It's not a big deal, but on the Operations screen, all of the icons are faded, regardless if you finished them or not.
How about making them a golden color or something until they are finished?
Repeatable Operations (like collecting resources) could be a bit different color. Like a solid gray, not faded.

So...If you recruit all 9 companions you have 10 people to manage their inventory.

I wish there were face icons (just like in DA2) of companions and inquisitor so you can just select who you want without spamming little triangle icon.  :)

1. When trying to extract mods with a full inventory, please give us a hint that it's due to the full inventory that mod extraction isn't possible. It took me a couple of minutes to figure out why the option to extraxt mods was greyed out, and yes, I am a nub. >.>

2. Concerning continuity/ immersion - Connor in Redcliffe:

In my first playthrough, I basically just strolled through Redcliffe without having talked to anyone, then happened upon Connor by the lake. I initiated a conversation, and he started talking to me about the mages/ templar plot I think it was, without my character actually knowing about that at all. It seems I had missed some dialogue that I obviously should have heard at some ealier point, but not having done that, this conversation was completely out of context. Especially as my character adressed him with 'Connor' - how in the blazes would my character know who he even is?

Also, another scene at Redcliffe castle (minor spoiler):

When entering the room where Connor has seemingly commited suicide, there is no indication that he actually has - or that he is even dead at all. I reloaded the game a couple of times because my char kept crying CONNOR, NOOOOO! upon entering the room, but I never could find out why she would do that. I had to google it in the end.

To mention it again: More armor and weapon variety! It's just not enough ! I mean how many different styles are there for one class rly like 3 or 4? (Many pieces have different names and different stats but look exactly the same) Would make the looting more fun.

AND: The ability to charge attacks/spells for the cost of more endurance/mana by pressing and holding the respective button. For example: press and hold the button for "blistering pain" .. then wait until the mage charges it with all his mana reserve and BAM!!!... unleash an EPIC FIREBALL !! Or like "Energy Bombardment" press and hold the button for an endless barrage of energy bolts...again until your mana runs out. (mana/endurance regen should be nerfed for that purpose)  OR CAN YOU IMAGINE A FULLY CHARGE "MIND BLAST". How cool would that be? Gandalf would go green with envy!
