Here are some of my suggestions, some I already posted elsewhere. This is mostly for the PC version. These aren't all my concerns, just the major ones.

GUI and menus

  • Make everything in menus smaller and more condensed. E.g. smaller fonts, smaller skill trees that aren't bigger than the screen, and perhaps even multiple skill trees per screen.
  • When hoovering over abilities on the action bar, show a tooltip that shows us what the ability does.
  • Bug fix: When selling an item by pressing space bar, the tooltip still shows information from the sold item instead of the one that's now highlighted.
  • Put armor and weapons in one menu with tabs separating them. Add a dropdown filter so we can sort by weapon/armor types.
  • Equipped items should either not be in the list with other items, or else all the way to the top.
  • Equipped items slots should be visible from anywhere in the inventory menu.
  • Scrolling through characters in menus (inventory and abilities) would be easier with dropdown menus instead of having to click the arrows. E.g. Going to Dorian now requires three clicks to the right, whereas with a dropdown box, all characters would be only two clicks away.

Gameplay

  • Auto-attack. Having to hold a mouse button does not make the game more fun.
  • Move character by holding left and right mouse button. Left mouse button should be available after introduction of auto-attack.
  • Mouse buttons should do the same thing in tac cam and action cam. In tac cam, left click selects an enemy, whereas in action cam this is the action button. This is confusing.
  • Move characters by right clicking in action cam.
  • Move characters with WASD in tac cam.
  • Only allow players to move tac cam by pressing middle mouse button and dragging, or by holding the cursor at the edges of the screen.
  • Tac cam zoom level should be much higher. At least double the distance we now have.
  • Allow us to set secondary keybinds.
  • Allow us to bind actions to the mouse. I have three mouse buttons that aren't doing anything.
  • Remove ability cap. Action bar should hold as many abilities as the horizontal resolution allows.
  • Tactics with 'if ... then' statements. Kinda like Final Fantasy XII. or Dragon Age.

Graphics

  • Moving the camera really quickly makes some vegetation invisible. Bringing the camera to a halt makes vegetation pup up. (try it ;) )
  • Remove framerate cap in cutscenes.

Misc

  • Remove save file cap. It's pointless.
  • Give us the option to skip the logo videos at the start of the game.

I have posted this list in other threads, but I don't think I have posted here so her it goes. (minor spoiler warning, but if you have not gotten to mid point yet you should not be reading this thread)

stuff that should be possible and easy with a DLC or some patches:

the ability to make more repairs to skyhold: rebuild walls, patch wholes, rebuild dungeon, fix towers, decide what to do with empty spaces, etc.

some kind of vault added to skyhold in the area where you store booze collectables. someplace where you can not only store items but display the cool ones like unique weapons and armor.

a dog or other animal companion like you had in the first two dragon age games.

additional story stuff for a certain elf mage to explain what is going on with him.

better loot verity (I get 2 dozen daggers, a dozen mage staffs and half a dozen Bianca upgrades for every sword I find, and I get 3 pieces of mage/quinary armor for every other armor I find).

open up more area's to explore. like Tevintar, the islands that the Quinary control, or more of Fereldan.

expand Val Royaux. I was shocked that no one at bioware used the opportunity of Val Royaux to poke fun at Ubisoft and the latest assassins creed game.

more involvement with the dwarfs.

skyhold centered missions with the ability to recruit more artisans or experienced commanders for your troops.

stuff that may be harder to do but I think this game needs to happen:

some kind of suikoden 2 style army battle mini game. the first dragon age did a great job in making you feel like you were actually in/commanding an army. this game other then everyone calling you sir, not so much. I mean I rushed to get horses in the first area thinking I would need Calvary and other then giving me slow moving mounts it does nothing.

make my actions have a bigger impact. I don't like claiming an area and only seeing a minimum amount of my troops, where are the guard towers, the patrols, the road improvements.

battle system overhaul.  return aura and sustain abilities. return the radial menu. return the ability to use items and abilities that are not on our quick select menu.

finally make it so that maps are not as boring after we clear certain areas.

there is a lot more but i don't feel like writing it all again, go look up the DLC wish list thread.

Here is one.

Move the heck away from the cartoony\flashy combat.

Add 50-60 finishing moves\critical hit animations instead. Gritty ones.

Then tie those to some banter. Like this. Sera scores a headshot with an explosive arrow. "Look, Varric!!!! No face!"

Here is an improvement that we would like to see in game. Let us craft Vitaar's for the Qunari members or at least include Qunari helmets for us to craft for Qunari. Those of us who play a Qunari Inquisitor and then also for Iron Bull. The Vitaar's that drop are not that great. We can craft better helmets and hats for the other members but as for the Qunari characters the Vitaar suck and there are no helmets except Iron Bull's helmet he gets on his personal quest for Qunari in the game. This is a lack of oversight in the game that me and my girlfriend can see. Qunari got hosed in the helmet/vitaar department compared to the other races and characters in the game.

OP, please add the following points:

  • Allow full mouse look option (without holding RMB all the time). Like in all other games with over the shoulder view. - Under controls.
  • Allow to adjust or simply increase the amount of hotbar items on PC. - Under UI
  • Menu UI on 21:9 resolutions like 2560x1080 is cut off in "tactical" behaviour editing screen, this needs fixing. - Under UI
  • Sort inventory items by level. - Under UI
  • Lock mouse cursor to game window (for those with multi-monitor set-up or those playing in windowed mode) - Under UI.

I made a list similar to this, although I made it much shorter to emphasise only the most important issues. You can refer to it, here.

The problem with posting a thread with constructive objective feedback and disclaiming any subjective views you express is that everyone just reads it, leaves and like and never replies, so you can't keep it up for developers to see! Controversy is what people talk about. So we have a ton of threads about some companion personality problems and plot holes and so on (which obviously aren't patchable), but many very important technical or usability problems (like the mouse look or the area looting for resources) get drowned in those.

Yeah some terrain make it hard to see the cursor or the casting ring! I'll add it!.

yeah this is something that needs doing as well make the mouse pointer easier to see as I was looking for it a lot on the game and struggling to find it half the time.

I wish I would have saw this before I made my own post, but I guess it wouldn't hurt to add here:

XBOX ONE - Gameplay(?)

Please add more Kinect Voice-enabled Commands such as  "Open" or 'pick up' and 'Quick Save'. Commands for active and sustained spells should be there too. 'Sola use Fade Shield', or 'Vivienne use Dispel' are great examples of why. There should definitely be an 'Open Menu','Close Menu'.

Kinect Enabled features were extremely useful in Mass Effect, and similar ones like that I had enjoyed in Skyrim (which had 200 commands at my disposal, including spell commands). I really think there should be more thought put into the Kinect Commands than what has occurred, as there only a little over than 100 commands and that's not a lot given that 85% of them redundant based upon the character. Despite what others may say, Kinect Voice Commands adds a higher level of immersion for my gaming.

Remove most of the Armor restrictions. Keep the ones that require a certain level.. keep the ones that can only be worn by race, keep the dragon armor restricted to the herald, but drop the restrictions because a rogue can't wear a warrior armor or mage armor..vice versa... how boring to be restricted on the armor your character can wear just because they were trained by humans etc....

I am using the mod created for this. Just because crafting is one of the better aspects of the game, but if I am restricted on what I can put on my inquisitor because of training, well that kind of sucks... To see an awesome armor... but can't wear it because she shoots a bow instead of wielding a war ax.. okay.. I am finished....
