I was SO hyped up. Yet, the game is even better than expected...

Srsly, are you kidding me Bioware? Usually, whenever I immerse myself in a game's pre-release hype, I have to prepare myself for a long and hard fall.

But this game makes even all-time favourites like BG2, Morrowind or Skyrim (to name just a few) look pathetic in comparison.

The way it looks.

They way it sounds.

The believable characters.

The freedom.

The sheer effing size.

The overall atmosphere.

I even love the combat - Dark Souls meets X-Com (although you DID force me to plug in a controller on my PC).

Point of this posting? Probably none. But if anyone who knows someone who knows someone working at Bioware can pass a long a message:

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for creating this game.

I can honestly say that this is the best single player RPG I have ever played. And trust me, I have pretty much played them all... (well, not as excessively as this guy, but you get my point).

[e] This got more popular than I thought it would. Time for an unpopular statement:

I kinda liked KotoR Fantasy Edition Dragon Age: Origins. Yes, I liked it. That's it. I would probably consider it in my all-time top 50 single player games, miles behind games like BG2, Fallout 2 or DA:I (to name some random few). But I am not even sure about that.

The (often criticized) differences to the apparently quite popular DA:O might well be a reason or two why I love this game SO much more. In fact, comparing those two wouldn't have occurred to me until I read your comments.

Agreed.

Haters are gonna hate, but this game is worthy of praise.

Just hope they iron it out a bit more, but I'm glad we got it now rather than a month from now to get rid of more of the bugs.

I'm loving it so far (25 hours in and just killed my first dragon) as much if not more than I loved DAO, here's hoping for a shed load of story DLCs and maybe even a expansion.....no reason the war table couldn't have more regions than Orlais and Fereldan.  :D

It's a really great game. I have a few complaints (the obvious ones) and think combat and the menu cna sometimes feel sluggish, but those aside it's blowing me away so far. I particularly like the way the events in the world are unfolding - really immersive if you pay attention. The scale is crazy impressive. Graphics are amazing, obiously. But so far I still feel as though I've barely scratched the surface - the game is simply too massive to have a decent appreciation for it yet.

I second this OP. It exceeded my expectations and those were high as it was. Rarely has this ever happened for me.. The last time this happened was with Mass Effect 1. My expectations and pre-hype was through the roof... got the game and my hype as well as expectations were found wanting... BioWare nailed it IMO!

Is there a tread where we can praise the game? I really think this game deserves it :) Love the game so far.

Totally agree.  There are people out there that were putting the game down 5 minutes after it came out.  Ridiculous if you ask me, how can you have an opinion after an hour in.  Im still in Haven and absolutely loving the game.  Yes, there are issues, but nothing that cant be patched or just get used to.

Im taking ever opportunity to explore everywhere and take it in.  Loving the characters and story, even though im only a tiny bit into the game.

Haters are gonna hate, but I say give it a chance, you wont be dissapointed.

I'm enjoying the game a great deal.  Disappointed about the tactics system and PC controls, but overall it has been a thrilling experience.

Except for the broken control on PC, the game is really good.

You are doing it wrong. Have you not been reading the forums? This is the worst game ever made. No redeeming qualities whatsoever. Just ask around.

Agreed with OP! I'm loving every second I spend in DA:I, I'm only about 50 hours in (lol!) and am already thinking of my second playthrough. Not even remotely tired of it.

Yes, so happy with this game.

I'm on a tight budget and there were several games I was considering but I can't afford them all. So glad I picked this one. I'm about 50 hours in, only level 13 (Assassin), but I've had a blast so far with everything. The story, exploring, questing (both side quests and the main), the atmosphere, and even the gorgeous graphics on my lower end PC are breathtaking. I can see myself playing this game for months.

Its an amazing game. The only problem is that NPCs look poorly modeled. To be fair it happens to many RPGs even the Witcher 3.

Honestly, had they shipped this game with a complete Tactics screen, a good tactical camera, some bug fixes/optimisation, and a better starting area, this game would probably knock Origins out of the park for me. Because those are the only complaints I have.

As it is, it's a bit inferior to it but not by much, and if it keeps up it will probably become my second favorite Bioware game of all time, behind Origins. I'm having a grand time.

This is one of those games where I WANT to keep playing, I WANT to explore and be pulled away from the main questline by a Rift or a cave. Really enjoying it. I've got about 50 hours into it already, on both multiplayer and singleplayer combined, and my current experience is a 8.5/10

Only reason it's not a 9.5+ is:

1) Bugs bugs bugs. Both in single player and multiplayer.

2) Multiplayer server instability and lag.

3) Nearly every side quest is bland (fetch / kill X quests).
