I have completed everything in the Western Approach. The High Dragon is dead so I have obviously finished all of Frederic's quests. Even all the War Table stuff and Shards have been found but I still have the Draconolgy Side-quest with the objective to "Find Frederic". Am I missing something obvious or is this a bug. I am guessing it has to be a bug. Can anyone confirm this or provide some insight?

Did you talk to him after you killed the dragon and told him you killed the dragon? Cause that's how you finish it.

Yes, all I can ask now is if he knows any other dragons around. He is part of the Inquisition now as well. Actually I just noticed he now also has a new quest icon above him yet all I can say is "Another Time." or "Know of any other Dragons?".

Yep, I'm having the same issue. I've completed the entire quest chain but still have the "Find Frederic" part of the Draconology quest.

Got the same bug. I'm seen some posts on other forums suggesting the 5 supplies you bring him was the issue. One person said they only brought 3/5 first time they found him. Then the quest completed after 5/5 was brought to him.

 

In my situation I already had the 5 supplies first time I talked to him and completed the quest during that same first conversation. Is that the case with anyone else? I'm guessing this is the root of the bug (completing one of the "post-draconology" quests within the same first conversation with Fredric), which is why some people have issues while some don't.

SAME thing.... exactly.. I have done EVERYTHING in this zone killed the dragon talked to him again and still no resolution all he says another time or my request to tell him do you know of any other dragons.  he claims there is another smaller dragon near by .. anyone know if this is the problem .. I have searched high and low of a smaller dragon.  anyone have a location for this SMALLER dragon.. i still show that the ! shows osmething about bandits in the area.. I have killed them all a few times.  PLEASE put us out of our misery lol fix this Bioware.

I'm having a different issue. After killing an abyssal dragon, Frederic's gone. Can't find him anywhere, neither on his camp nor where the quest marker leads me.

I have the "Find Frederic" objective as well. I have completed his quest line and recruited him for the inquisition. This didn't happen on my first playthrough but it has certainly got my OCD acting up on my current playthrough.

I had this problem in my second playthrough. In my first one it worked fine. The only difference I can remember is that in my first playthrough I did not have all the supplies ready to be turned in when I first talked to him, while I did have them all in my second one. Not sure if it's related though. In any case, not completing the "Draconology" quest doesn't seem to actually prevent you from finishing the chain. I was still able to do all the related quests and end with recruiting Frederic as an agent.

Also had it, completed his mission, killed the dragon and recruited him into the Inquisition and its still telling me to find him.

This is exactly what happened to me. I didn't have all of the items for him but I did have 3 of the 5 supply. I can't get any other missions from him now that I've completed clearing the traps for him so I can't get the bait.

Yep, I'm having the same issue. I've completed the entire quest chain but still have the "Find Frederic" part of the Draconology quest.

I have the same issue with the quest still appearing as unfinished in my journal.

 

I think what causes it is I found all his stashes of equipment before I'd even talked to him and gave them to him before he even asked me to search for them.  I wonder if, in order for the quest to be completed, you have to talk to him first and then turn in the stashes.

I just Want to know if i can still place the bait on the traps and fight the dragon...im having the same problem it is saying need to find Fredric but i did all the other things...   dont have bait yet...Please let me know
