Hey! I would've posted this in the New Player Forums but due to no-reason-explained-whatsoever I cannot make a post in that forum.
I picked the Chantry upgrade for the Skyhold Garden. However I can't seem to notice any big difference in the area and I have no idea where to find the extra resources the description spoke about.
Any help?
Cheers!

It took a while for mine to show up for some reason. Maybe you just have to wait?

I only noticed it added various statues, otherwise it didn't do much at all. Same with the courtyard update.

The Chantry yields only the 2 initial pots to grow herbs , but is supposed to give you gold as tithes from Chantry supporters.
There is no way to get said gold. At least I can't notice it.
The expanded garden works, expanding from 2 to 6 pots.
But my last save was too far behind so I'm not willing to change.
I just want to find out how to redeem the donations from Chantry loyalists like it said in the description.
This appears to be a bug because I've noticed this question on various sites with nobody able to provide an answer.
Like Nyaore said, all I've noticed are a few added statues that people pray too.

Confirm this. It's make me regret chosing chantry instead of the garden.

If I had to bet, I would say it was a feature that was removed. I IMAGINE it was a scenario where the tithe built up over time and then you got a gold dump when you clicked the coffer or whatever... until they realized you could pull the old Fable II trick and set your computer/PS4/XBOX ahead a year and rake in your millions...

I'm having the same issue - I just upgraded the Chantry garden and can't figure it out. If it was removed it would be great if the description was updated, or if its an issue that will be fixed.

I went with the garden nursery for practicality - the garden choice isn't just cosmetic. What benefit there is from the Chantry Garden, I dunno. I reloaded after trying it out - could be that version might get you bigger rewards if you do ops or something. *shrug*
As for the other two upgrades, the game makes it clear that the courtyard upgrade and the tower upgrade are purely cosmetic.

It sucks that the engine isn't easy to mod too, this is the kind of thing modders could make great

Haven't played Fable 2 in years. Must be a gazzillionnaire by now.

I cannot say this with 100% certainty, as I selected the Herb Garden so have no way to check and verify, but...
In the War Table wiki (found here: http://dragonage3.wi...e.com/War Table) there is a War Table mission listed called "Tithe of the Faithful" that only becomes available after unlocking the Chantry Garden upgrade. I suspect that is how you collect your tithes from the garden. Takes 60 minutes to complete (less with agents, of course). Not at all sure how much you get from it or if it is repeatable (but I imagine that it would be).
I did unlock the Chantry Garden just long enough to give it a look-see before reverting to a previous save and noted that another War Table mission immediately popped called "The Archives of Montifort". The wiki lists it and another called "Eyes of the Maker" as being available only after choosing the Chantry upgrade. Both take 240 minutes and give a Masterwork Balanced Pommel and a Gold Bracelet, respectively. So, I suspect these three missions comprise the "resources and gold" promised in the Chantry Garden description. But again, I chose the Herb Garden, so this is just an educated guess on my part.
All in all, I'd have to say the Chantry Garden is pretty rubbish. Gold is already easy enough to come by in the game (and there is so very little worth spending it on). On the other hand, it is quite nice to have an easily accessible garden (albeit a ridiculously small one) for convenient harvesting of rare herbs. This, coupled with the "Optimal Cutting" perk, can be a real boon for players (such as myself) who use enjoy lobbing lots of grenades at enemy brainpans. Jar of Bees (and Some Wasps) FTW.

As for the othe two upgrades, the game makes it clear that the courtyard upgrade and the tower upgrade are purely cosmetic.
Most of the refugees streaming to Skyhold, and in fact its forces there, happen to be Andrastians. Giving them a place where they can lay down their fears and kindle their hopes and dreams as it relates to their religion is in and of itself a benefit -- towards morale, specifically.
But that's my personal headcanon for why my Cadash did it. There's no actual reward other then a few war table missions. Would be nice though if we could expand Skyhold and perhaps create more areas in the mountains. Maybe a temple for Elves and a place for Dwarves to offer thanks to the Ancestors.
I'm actually sad the other two upgrades are just cosmetic. I was hoping for some sort of recognition of it by the characters, like Mages getting annoyed that they don't have a tower (to which I tell them "Shut up. I gave you an alliance rather then a conscription and you've got an entire library at your disposal and can go anywhere within the fortress").

The chantry option is bugged, you don't actually get any gold. Also does anyone else think it's likely that Skyhold DLC is coming? I mean regardless of what you do half the place is still wrecked. It would be cheap to make and I'm sure a lot of people would buy it.

I would love to see a mini DLC where you can customize Skyhold further. For one I'd like to improve the lighting in the main hall, as clearly those torches aren't doing much. I'd like to see an actual market place instead of just the area in front of the stables. Also, it'd be awesome to display more than one mount considering the stable has 3 stalls.
Even if there were quests where you have to go seek out specialist builders and convince them to improve Skyhold, dealing with the fact that the roads to get there are difficult to travel, so organizing settlements along the path to provide support along the road.
Heck, the tower where your quarters are is still only half done. And the dining room/cellar in the basement... there's so much opportunity for expansion and I really hope they announce when the DLC is scheduled to be out (even if it's not for months, just a schedule)
Dealing with Empress Celene I and Alistair/Anora in regards to the influence you hold, and the land you live on (if it belongs to Ferelden or Orlais) and the fallout after the main story quest is over.
My next hope is that they release some way to mod the game for PC (so I can fix some of these controls that screw me up) or a list of console commands that help adjust triggers or bugs until an official patch comes out. I have some UI issues I'd love to fix to help the way I play (allowing me to hotkey controls to a mouse button would be AWESOME.) but I wouldn't go so far as to request a change to all games since it's a personal thing. And that's partly the benefit of playing on a PC - the fact you can adjust those things.
But I love this game so much. I think it's the best game I've played in years and I want 1,000,000 ways to help support it.

You believe that nonsense?
Why would developers work in an engine that is hard to use? And if developers can use it, modders can. It's just a silly excuse not to release any modtools so they can release shitty equipment DLC instead. I'm kind of surprised they haven't already.

It's a metaphor. It is telling you that the chantry has no place in the inquisition. ![]()
