Hi all,

I own DA:O, DA: A and DA: II. I have all the DLC. You might call me a satisfied Bioware Customer. For that matter I have ME: I, II and III and all the DLC for that, too.

When I logged into the Keep and BSN today, I noticed a tagline that told me I had been a member since 2008. I am not prone to complaining and indeed I loved the first 2 games, (albeit preferring DA: O). As a software developer myself I understand the challenges of writing a game of this scope and the extent of the achievement represented by ME and DA.

So when I say the Keep is a disaster, I do so thoughtfully and after reflection. Fundamentally, this is an applet that allows us to import our data from the first and second games. Only, by design -

  • It only imports part of the data - we have to fill in most of the history ourselves. This is ridiculous in a modern game

  • If import works at all, (I have yet to import my warden) there is a 24 hour + lag. What modern consumer application of any kind takes 24 hours to import an old saved game

  • There is no feedback whilst waiting for the 24 hours to EVEN TELL US THE UPLOAD HAPPENED

This needs to be sorted out. Enough said.

On your first point, I don't think it grabs your Warden's and Hawke's directly from your saves. I think it takes them from their servers. At any rate, saves were bugged as far as importing so it doesn't make sense to use those for the Keep. If they were going to do that, why wouldn't they just use regular save importing?

I didn't have this 24+ hour lag so I can't speak to that. Why would you need confirmation? Just look if it's there or not.

Join the crowd buddy, everyone an their mom thinks the save file importing being junked was a bed decision on BioWares and EAs half. Then again, it was bugged to hell and back so importing any save files might have as difficult if not more so then using the Keep. (which I have had zero problems with, thus far)
