I'm getting it too. There seems to be some issue going on. https://downdetector.com/status/origin

I'm wondering if there is any drawback to playing (single player obviously) offline other than cloud save not syncing. Are the war room missions tied to online connection or do they just us an internal timer?

Just finished my first two DA:i playthroughs was going to do a trilogy playthrough like the OP because, honestly all other games i have ever owned pale to even DA:o much less the second two (yes all have their issues but......)

Both DA:O and DA2 give me a no servers (Xbox 360 latest patches on console and games).  I guess that means we have to play and build manually afterwards on Keep.  bit of a P.I.T.A. (moderators feel free to change or reprimand I didn't find it offensive enough to self censor but....) but if that is the case i wish EA/Bioware would let us know.

EDIT: nope on Keep we can't create a new warden or a new Hawke.  It is imperative, then that EA return the servers, even if just some sort of pipeline to Keep

It's done on system clock.

You can rename the defaults. The game ignores the custom characters, or you can use the Character Creator

wait, what character creator?

from the FAQ thread

Is there a character creator?
Sadly not. The Keep will attempt to recognize your Wardens and Hawkes from previous playthroughs so they can be reflected as part of your history, but you won’t be able to edit appearances or customize new characters

Also the renaming is nice, I hadn't noticed it, but that then limits you to (as far as new characters go) one of each class/gender/race combos. . . which is still a lot but based on the way I play these games to death ;) it's a bit more restricting.

That said, it's better than the open internet ports on my Xbox360 (to my knowledge not a possible things) advice given to me by @dragonage on twitter.

still it would be nice to know if the lack of servers in the 1st two games is permanent or just a symptom of something temporary. I've always had some trouble connecting to the servers and many of my characters never uploaded in the first place but not like i'm having now, and they worked in august when I played the first two the last time.

I'm playing DA:O at the moment. And it always say that I'm logged in at the beginning of the game. So why the EA servers for this game were down or is down, I don't know? And as far as the Keep goes, you import world states. And your Hawke and your Warden. But the game, DA:I, will give these characters a twirl and a spin in the Frostbite 3 engine...
