I was a fan of Dragon Age: Origins, but did not buy DA 2, because it required the use of "Origin" DRM. I don't purchase games that require me to contact servers for installation/activation due to the effect of this policy on the longevity of the game. it will no longer be possible to install/activate such games once the servers are taken offline or the server support for the games is ended, be it due to a change in the DRM strategy for the company, saving money on support, company bankrupcy or whatever other reason.
In any case, back to Dragon Age: Inquisition. I read somewhere that Dragon Age: Inquisition will use Denuvo DRM. Based on what I have read, Denuvo DRM is highly effective yet not server-based and essentially just prevents tampering with the executable file. If true, that would be great news, because it can provide effective protection against piracy, while not negatively impacting the longevity of the game. It would mean I could buy the game. ![]()
Can somebody confirm (for example, via a link to an authoritative source) that Dragon Age: Inquisition uses Denuvo instead of Origin and that Denuvo is not an online-dependent form of DRM? Thank you.
