Anyone solved this puzzle? Care to share a guide?

All of them go out pretty immediately and using the tactic screen to light them all didn't work for me. So either it is bugged or there is no puzzle, I think.

Apparently it's not a trackable quest, it's just a puzzle. Look for codex entries Parson's Battered Notebook.

Ok so the andrastes mercy monument, if looking at the map roughly straight rigth from that overlooking the water kind of behind a rock is a corpse that has the note you need for info.  Once you have gotten it you will find it again in your codex under letters and notes item number 56.

 

In this note you want to pay particular attention to ...

 

Line 9, when your in the lion building thing you will notice the torches at each corner of the room and also notice the corners in relation to a compass, northwest, north east, southeast, southwest.  Line 9 says 4 at northwest, 2 northeast, 3 southeast.  Basicaly light the northwest 4 times then move to northeast light 2 times move to southeast light 3 times.

 

After this is dont the center brazier lights up with a box sitting in it.  This modifies the codex entry you already have.  However I havn't been able to figure out past that since the 100 steps to revelation from line 12 doesnt really tell me which direction to go, and then the part after is kind of vague also.

Ok update I found it by acident wandering around, get on the road near the andraste mercy monument and follow the road heading toward the lion pavillion, when you first come to a fence on the left hand side not far from the monument use your search as you get to the end of the fence and follow were it leads you, should be to the base of the large tree to the left of the road just past the fence.

Ok so the next entry I finnaly found in a spot that made no sence whatsoever to what the riddle said from previous one being to reference number 3.  After the last one I listed I found the next at the base of the farthest up river waterfall you can get too and it references number 14.

Well the giant tower that seems to serve no purpose on the map happens to be called southfinger tower. 

 

Around the west side of it at its base in some bushes you;; find a "treasure"

Okay guys let's clean this up some. Right now all I see is a misordered mess of info so start from the top and go down the list in the order they're found

Ok, to clarify (or maybe not ) this is roughly how I did it.

 

Just east of Andraste's Mercy overlooking the river is a slight outcrop with a body lying on it, it gives you codex 56.

 

Go to The Pavilion and light the torches, still not sure how I did this. I tried the 4, 3, 2 thing but I have have not been selecting the right ones. I do know that for me the 2 (the last one I did) is in the west/NW of the building. as you come up the stairs. This point will need better explaining as it doesnt seem to be the same for everyone else, its just how I did it. Once done there is something in the brazier in the centre.

 

After that go to the source of the river in the NE of the map, use the scan at the waterfall, get the update.

 

Go to the southfinger tower, you can see a picture on the map north of Sulan's Tree. Just to the west of it you can scan another box, take it, a demon will spawn....

 

tl:dr besides some extra xp Im not sure what doing this is meant to accomplish...didnt get any loots from it.

How do you know that the quest is over ? When i beat the demon, it gave me another number "3". I don't think the quest ends upon killing the demon. #3 states " Arching above outstreached wings. Even stone can rise". I'm assuming that the wings must be that of an owl or a statue ? Again, i don't think the mission is over.

Now the question is which one, since there are about 10 of those owls scattered around the place. And perhaps it's not literal, who knows...

Now... I most likely did this improperly as I thought I had the codex from the body already...

 

I did the torches and realized that I hadn't gotten the body. I went and got the body... It updated correctly stating "100 steps from Andraste's Mercy" or whatever.

 

However nowhere in a 100 step radius (or further) indicates that an item can be found via the search function... I did indirectly find a Bottle of Thedas, though...

 

Was wondering if anyone has experienced this by being as impatient as I am and doing the torches first?

OK, so I believe I've completed it. From start to finish, it goes like this:

 

Spoiler

1) Find the codex near the river, almost due east of Andraste's Mercy, on an outcropping above the water.

2) Go back to Andraste's Mercy.

3) Run in the direction of the statue's back approx. 50 running steps (just keep searching until you hear the indicative ping). This references #3 in the codex.

4) Go to the road and follow it towards the Lion's Pavilion until you find a spot where a large rock is "arching" over a statue of an owl. The next clue is on top of the arch, referencing #9.

5) Go to the Lion's Pavilion. While facing the statue head-on, light the torch that appears "northwest" 4 times, "northeast" 2 times, and then "southeast" 3 times. Remember, the directions are relative to the statue, not the compass. The next clue references #20.

6) Go to the waterfall in the very northwest of the map. The next spot to search is within it. This next clue references #14.

7) Finally, go to Stonefinger Tower, which is north of Sunan's Tree and west of Din'an Hanin. Make sure you're ready, as finding the final cube and the MIsshapen Doll inside it will spawn a powered-up Despair Demon named "Treasure." And you're done!

 

While you may be saying "WHERE'S MAH LOOT THOUGH?!?" consider that the demon drops 2 essences for Superb Runes, one of the rarest crafting ingredients in the game, so I'd consider that a decent reward, if not blatantly obvious.

So, I've tried this. I've tried starting at each of the four braziers and it's not worked. I have no clue what's wrong.

 

My codex shows me that #9 is the current clue to use. I've been lighting 4, 2, 3. And nothing.
