It looks to me that if I'm on a pedestall or an elevated area the Demon COmmmander cannot stunt me easily... (I played a mage up to this point on bronze/silver)
So, hop on something when possible...
Playing different classes helps a lot understanding some of the smaller finesses.
So I'd like to add a few more things, which I'm guilty of myself.
- If the Legionnaire holding up Guard, tanking a single add mob, or the last mob remaining.
Please don't kill it, let the poor bastard build up his guard to full, so he is good to go for the next encounter.
(this is annoying as hell, when playing as a legionnaire and something I'm also guilty of doing).
- Let the tank pull, let him/her grab the initial aggro. Yeah, I know as a ranged archer or mage its really tempting to cast that first spell when the mobs are all huddled up like that, but its a lot easier to keep aggro if you already got it than trying to pull it off someone else. Also creates a big dilemma for the tank when some mobs are behind him/her and some mobs are in front, and scattered around.
(note also, the initial aggro seems really strong, either that, or the AI wont change and action its already started on. Can't confirm.)
...Who cares that a healing potion can immediately stand you up or end a stagger animation allowing you to flee from what might surely be a kill and healing you in the process....

a healing potion can immediately stand you up or end a stagger animation allowing you to flee from what might surely be a kill and healing you in the process.
Does this work with any drinkable potion, or just healing potions?
Just if you're knocked down, but at full health, that's a waste. If you can drink say a resistance potion say, that might be more efficient.
I actually don't know if it works with other potions. I just noticed it after surviving a cheapass Demon Commander attack. I'll give it a shot with other potions if I ever remember to do so. On the other hand, it would be using a potion and that sorta' flies in the face of my advice...
When the chest in the large treasure rooms is on a little pedestal (looks just slightly taller), it means there will be a Guardian. If it's not, then it's safe to loot, even without teammates. Learn to recognize this and call it out to the team when you're using voice chat.
4. Do not buy any other item box aside from the 1200 gold one... Any other item box is pointlessly wasteful.
Eh... the difference in price per item between 1200 and 725 is 1.6 gold (240g per item vs 241.66666g per item)
So sure, the large one is technically better, but if you've got 800g it's not a big deal to pick up a medium chest, you're costing yourself 5g in savings (~0.7% discount).
The most important thing is that you never buy a small box because that is a noticeable waste.
