I heard somewhere that your character can get involved in party discussion as you travel, but this has yet to happen for me? Also why does the requisition guard at the camp say 'nothing to report sir' when I'm playing a female character?
Should you enter dialogue with companions

"Party Banter" happens occasionally. Sometimes you have the opportunity to say something. Not always, usually its just two companions talking.
The Requisition Guard may say "Nothing to report Ser"... And I think "Ser" is gender neutral. Then again, maybe they just cut that corner.

In DA:O, "Ser" was a title to denote a knight, such as Ser Cauthrien or Ser Gilmore. The Kirkwall term "Serah" was more like "sir". Perhaps it was more like "citizen" or "friend" since I think it was indeed gender neutral.
