I remember that he ended the conversation with "Banal Nadas", which I believe is literally translated as "Nothing Inevitable".

(This is a bit of an assumption on my part, as I took "Banal" from "Banalhas", which means "The place of nothing".)

Honestly, I was annoyed that Cory was mispronouncing so many words.

Cory The Nightmare says "Dirth ma, harellan. Ma banal enasalin. Mar solas ena mar din." Solas replies, "Banal nadas".

Solas' reply is the simpler one I think. "Banalhan" means "the place of nothing". "An" means "place", so I take "banal" to mean nothing. "Nadas" means "inevitable" so I think Solas is essentially retorting - nothing is inevitable, or it's not inevitable, something like that.

As for Nightmare's line... "Dirth" is tell or speak, "ma" is me/mine, "harellan" means trickster (note a codex entry tell us the elves mixed up this word). Here he's basically saying, Tell me, trickster/rebeller or Speak, my dread wolf. Something like that.

And the rest I find more difficult to string together. Ma banal enasalin. Mar solas ena mar din. Me/mine (ma) nothing/inevitable (banal) to be grateful for being able to withstand loss (enasal, -in is some kind of suffix I would guess). I don't know what mar means but as I've said ma is me/mine so it could be something related. Solas means pride/to stand tall but could be being used in the context of his name. Appear/emerge (ena) mar (?) din (not or isn't, it's also used to mean someone who is died or "is not").

Make of that what you will.

When did they speak in the fade?

It's in a later mission, he speaks to everyone who is in your party at some point during it.

That wasn't Cory taunting the party. That was the Nightmare Demon.

This translation is 99% wrong.
The Nightmare says "Dirth ma, harellan. Ma banal enasalin. Mar solas ena mar din." Solas replies, "Banal nadas".
Dirth ma, harellan. Tell me, trickster.
Ma banal enasalin. Am I not blessed?
Mar solas ena Mar din. You have shown no pride.
Banal nadas. It's not inevitable.
"Tell me trickster, am I not blessed? You have shown no pride." Soles replies, "It is not inevitable."
this is most likely wrong, for obvious reasons. There is an elvish saying, Fen'Harel enansal (fenn-HARR-ell EHN-ah-sahl): The Dread Wolf's blessing. I think the nightmare is referencing this saying or something like that.

Enansal means gift or blessing.

Nightmare said to Solas, "enasalin", without the "n". Enasal means to be grateful for being able to withstand loss.

Oh. I missed the chance to bring Solas with me.

I assume it is something about dying alone. His fear is said to be dying alone at least.
