First of all I'd like to congratulate bioware on making the first gay character in any video game that felt more real (to me, at least) than any i've seen so far.
Of course I'm talking specifically about Dorian's sexuality and how it affects the romance/his plot.
I love watching my characters fall in love, trade banter and even had Dorian telling my inquisitor off for almost dying which was one of those scenes where you see the depth to their relationship even though essentially it's been a flurry of wheel-steered choices. However, it is cleverly/brilliantly portrayed and written.
HOWEVER
My only quip with the romance of this game is that it appears far too short for my liking...
The game takes a good while to get to skyhold (if you're like me and spend the first 7 hours solely in the hinterlands) so i can see why no real romance will flourish until then however once in skyhold it felt like all i had to do was go to dorian, get a cut scene, do a quest, get him in bed, romance sealed. Yes, it was done well and yes it took me more than just one hour however i wished to see more to their relationship. (As i would with all romances in the game)
Obviously i understand this isn't Dragon age: dating sim (despite me wanting it to be for the most part) but if you are to take any feedback from your fans please just give more of the same. I like the way the romances play out, i just want a lot more content to it. I don't want my romance to end after the sex-scene between my two characters, i want many more afterthoughts and close-calls to breakups all the way to the end of the game. (and beyond, hello DLC)
Apart from my whining I love this character (Dorian) the most out of my companions, i love Iron bull too although his romance is saved for my next playthrough.
Also i just thought i'd note that after the 'kissing' option with Dorian on my ps4 version the game crashes coming up with error and shutting down back to my ps home screen. If i skip the scene it plays fine.
But yes, I love this game, Dorian, what he represents and i want more because i'm greedy.
