I hope the next DA will be an instanced MMO. If you don´t agree you just can´t handle change.

And it should play like Assassin's Creed! If you don't agree you're obsessed with living in the past.

Chief complaint of DA:O - it had slow combat?

Okay, so make the combat faster. DA2 had ridiculous cartoony combat, but it was faster, so that's something. But it also moved away from a lot of what made DA:O so great.

DA:I actually achieves a decent compromise in the look and feel of combat between the two previous games. I'm impressed by it. But again Bioware stepped away from the really good things about the previous games.

When people complain about DA:I and compare it to DA:O, they're not saying everything about DA:O was perfect. That would be ridiculous. They're saying they don't understand why Bioware radically altered beloved elements of previous games. They tried to fix things that weren't broken, when we were hoping they would focus on only fixing things that were broken.

I totally agree OP, the fact that people on this forum are saying "Oh no! It's not Dragon Age Origins 2.0, we will never get another Dragon Age game!" is freaking insane. Inquisition has been SAID by BIOWARE to be outperforming the previous games. They need to get it through their thick heads that Origins was more of a fetch quest than Inquisition. ORIGINS IS DONE, IT WILL NOT BE RETURNING. NOR WILL IT'S AWFUL GAMEPLAY!

Oh the short memories we have.

Chris Priestly (remember him?) Was doing an official Bioware victory dance on these forums and in all the gaming publications when DA2 sold 1.1 Million copies in its first week. Why? because that's a LOT more than what DA:O did its first week.

Yeah, how did that awesomesauce fast start turn out for DA2 when all the dust and hype settled? That's right.... not that great.

A *good* game takes a bit longer than the first month's results to prove itself.

And just as I did not give it "Longer" neither are these annoying doomsdayers my friend. They claim things such as endless fetch quests (which by the way, ALL of Origins was a fetch quest for Flemeth...) However, Bioware employees on this very forum are telling us the game is outperforming the previous two. And? The plotline is decent and Bioware actually listened to the fans (Not totally, I'm by no means saying this game is without fault.) However, do I think it runs the risk of being another Dragon Age 2? No, absolutely not.

OK, but now we need the lists of what made DAO so great and the really good things about the previous two games that didn't make it into DAI.

I can feel the absence of the more robust tactics system. Also, being able to access all your abilities on the circle menu would be really nice (I'm currently playing PC with a gamepad, but the majority of my playthroughs for DAO and DA2 were on xbox, so I'm used to the ability slots and actually like them) to the point that I can't believe it's not an option.

Other than those two, I personally am quite pleased with the way DAI shook out.

That's not what people mean when they say "fetch quest."

To use an example, let's invert it. Instead of a fetch quest, imagine a delivery quest. You walk up to an NPC with an exclamation mark over his head. You talk to him and he says "I need to deliver these herbs to the healer in the neighboring town, but I can't make the journey. Would you please take them for me?" You can only reaply with "yes" or "no."

So you travel over to the town, find the healer and speak to him. You can only say "I have your herbs" and "goodbye." The healer thanks you for making the delivery. Quest complete.

Pretty boring. Nothing really happened. You weren't given the opportunity to keep the herbs for yourself or extort the healer for money. You just delivered the item. You couldn't even hand the quest in and choose some snarky line. Just "here are your herbs."

Now, would the argument "but Lord of the Rings is just a delivery quest, too" really be a good counter to criticism of how bland that quest is?

Where origins outshines them all

The camp, cut scenes, banter, the ending, the landsmeet, how taking certain actions could cause party member to attack you, who to leave behind to defend the gate, how you obtained specializations, the murder knife, your background etc

Dai i love my talking dwarf but you add the same character creator and other features and dao is better

I will finish 1-3 playthrough on dai but i completed every origin in dao . Waited years for morrigan to return. Researched locations for the best hidden weapons and after my first playthough discovered alternate ways to build my army.

Theres no alternate army in dai. Theres no werewolves or elves. Theres no proving arena or making of kings .

The sandwich is prettier and you may say it tastes better but in reality there is less meat

The only reason that DA:I even exists is because DA:O was a huge critically acclaimed success.

You DA:O haters are funny people.

If you are sooooooooooooooooo good, please make a game and make sure it is a hit.

You can't say stuff like that, because the only thing holding people back is funding. But give the right people the money, and yes, they could make a better game. For a fraction of the cost.

You just need to hire the right people. Even reading posts in a thread, you can tell which people get it, and which people don't. Put those people in a room together, with the financial backing, and yes, they could develop a better game.

You'd be surprised at the talent that lurks in a sleazy online forum.

Haven is better than the camp and Skyhold is ten times better than Haven.

The cutscenes have been better in the DA series ever since they changed to a voiced protagonist.

The landsmeet has nothing on Your Heart Shall Burn.

The Banter has been awesome in all 3 titles.

While I loved DA:O it didn't keep me playing for several hundred hours. Once you did an Origin Story they were so linear that it became tiresome to do them again. The same can be said for Ostigaar even if you are doing different Origin Stories. And don't get me started on the fade that is the reason I can no longer play that game, I get disheartened in the fade every time I try.

I know i shouldn't post here, but...

No one, and by any mean, no one will ever be able to have a group of peoples share the same opinion on everything... Some loved DAI, some still prefer DAO, deal with it. The whole point of a forums (beside the few categories talking about the lore and tips), is to voice question/opinion/concern/congratulation to Bioware/EA, not being judge by a few randoms that think they should be the one censoring what can, or cannot reach Bioware's ears.

Dragon Age is a good game, not without it's flaws, and you cannot expect peoples to not complain about parts of the game that you probably like just because you liked it. Nor trying to convince everyone that they should hate it too.

You're tired of peoples not sharing the same opinion as yours? Get what, you can just click on another link, and save peoples a long tirade about how you do not understand the world.

O wait, that's exactly what I'm doing.... damn.

But the whole idea of forums is to disagree with people who think differently than you do. They really need to know that they are wrong.
