Slightly confused, I thought playing with 4xmsaa was possible? Apparently not. Get around 27-45 fps.. Is it badly optimized or something?

Reduce it to 2xmsaa, it'll run much better after that.
Watch totalbiscuits Port report.
Thank you, yeah I noticed every next setting removes 10 frames, so if i switched to 2xmsaa it made the frames go up by 10, then when it's off another 10. I just have this mental thing where I need to play with the highest aa setting, even if it is not that noticeable lol.

I always prefer less AA and mor AF. Sharper textures works better for me, I don't like too much blur so I usualy set my AA to lower lewels.
Try high AF and low AA maybe it will work better for you.

But yes, the game still requires optimization and better driver support.

I honestly think it's still poorly optimized. Apparently they are working with NVIDIA to correct the issues?

@PaganOak
You don't know what's up?
Read the numerous threads in forums all over the web to see how many people are having trouble with this game that you have no issues with. You'll see what's up.

Yea totalbiscuit's computer is super solid with a lot of the best stuff and he's got two gtx cards and it still drops the framerate for him.

Another piece of advice is to disable "Origin" in-game display/overlay. I found that it chews fps for some reason.
I don't have a great system (AMD Phenom IIx4 965 BE, 8 GB ram & R9 270x), but with settings mostly on High, 1920*1080 resolution & no AA I was averaging 39 fps in the benchmark. I disabled the Origin in-game overlay, and changed no other graphical settings, and my average fps went up to 52 in the benchmark! I gained 13 average fps by disabling it.
you can disable it for all games viz Origin's settings menu, or if you right-click on the game in your game section and go to "Game Properties" and tick the "Disable Orini in-game" option.. this will turn it off while DAI is running.
Also, as always - make sure you are running the latest drivers for your card. As both AMD & nVidia have released drivers that are supposedly for DAI... and are still working on improving the drivers as well.

4xMSAA
You must know they are darn expensive. TotalBiscuit I believe is running 2xGTX980 and even his rig cannot hold the game at 60fps with 4xMSAA.
Just wait till nVidia enables MFAA to replace MSAA in DAI. Once it is enabled, I read that you can choose MSAA in game and the driver will automatically apply MFAA.

Could it be your power supply?
I learned the other day that my 600w PSU is only stable at 450w. Between 450w and 600w, it starts providing erratic power to the components; nothing shuts down, but performance is hit for heavy power drawers.

You get much better performance when using the Mantle API to render. I have an FX 8350 and a (single) Radeon 290x and can play with 60 fps with everything on max (including MSAA). Resolution 2560x1440. In case of perfomance issues, lowering MSAA should be the first step.

Not sure, I have a 700W psu.
I think the game needs to optimized a lot better still. I'll try to play with no aa and if they decide to fix this up then I'll turn it up!

I cannot comment on how the game should work, but as of now MSAA seems like the framerate killer. I have a 980, but I turned it off because why would I need two AA's? I just leave post-process AA on and leave MSAA off. Leaving everything else on Ultra and the framerate is constant at 60, except for those cut scenes. I wouldn't worry too much OP, 27-45fps on a 970 with 4x MSAA seems "normal" as of now. Just turn MSAA off and enjoy the game.
I have no idea how PaganOak managed 65-77fps on a 780ti with 4x MSAA on ultra. Either he's lying, not playing in 1080p, have insanely amount of overclocking (must be over 1200MHz because that's what my card is at), or the issue is not plagued on the GTX 700 series? No Clue.

Thanks for the reassurance, was contemplating getting a GTX 980 before. I do have all the settings on ultra and I think I'll take your advice and leave it off for the time being. Will try to ignore my "PC brain" telling me that everything should be on ultra.
The good thing about my card now is that it's miles better than me 760! Which could hardly get me 60fps while looking good.

The settings are at the maximum that they can handle, in game go smooth like always, no frame drops, just the annoying 30 frames animation on cutscenes, because of bioware decision.

I hated that, I was getting smooth as butter frames from the rest of the game but as soon as it jumped into the cutscenes it lagged like nobody's business even with only the most basic of AA on. I have 1000w, a 780ti, and a pretty decent motherboard, it shouldn't be lagging like it is. Especially as I turned all the process hogging options off, save for the most basic AA on low just to keep the jaggies off the character models. I hope the patch fixes that as it was almost painful to sit through some of them with the very noticeable lag.

My setup runs the game quite well, nearly all on ultra with fps most of the time staying a stable 60. But I sometimes get this weird "freeze" or "lag" when I turn the camera around in a swift manner or when I run into a new area (I guess it has something to do with the game loading the area?). It's very annoying, and I don't seem to be able to get rid of it even when I lower the settings. It might be something to do with either the processor or HDD. I think I have had the game crash twice in 40+ hours, so that's not bad, Both have been some weird directx errors causing my graphic card to become "unresponsive and reboot itself". Dunno what's that about.
Oh yeah, and I do have GTX970 with the latest drivers.

4xMSAA is typical for 1080p resolution & its bizarre that its so taxing on this title, which frankly, doesnt look fantastic on highest settings (not a complaint on that account & dont want to start a tangent). its especially weird as i dont recall battlefied really taking a massive beating with msaa, but same engine, different devs, bf4 for all its serverside problems is phenomenally optimized. this apparently isnt, definitely as far as the AA is concerned.
fortunately im not an fps fiend & think a fluid 30 is perfectly fine for a dragon age game. i cant really recommend turning it off (though if it looks fine to you, great) but 2x is at least OK.

Some believe that 1080p is the minimum resolution.

Yeah, what I find weird is that I can actually run BF4 on Ultra including 4xMSAA and 1080p with no lag at all.
