I was short of just 4 blackmails and 3 hallas, and ended up exiling Gaspard w/ Celene in charge. I would've really really liked to have unite the 3 of them, and I tried so hard to find all of that junk. This was a fantastic mission, but also so frustrating
I was left with a bitter feeling in my mouth upon completion, because it's annoying to have spent that much extra time scavenging and still unable to get the result you really wanted. Boo

This thing is more involving than I thought. I replayed the scene once to see what outcomes I could get but still got the same one with Celine in charge and gaspard exiled.
I had dirt on all of them, but I didn't get to talk to them before confronting Gaspard's sister so only the dirt on Gaspard came up in the following dialogue.
Oh well, maybe next pt.

I brought Briala and Celene back together romantically, through the power of persuasion and a certain elven locket.
Celene stays the Empress, Briala gets added to the court as the first elven Marquess, and Gaspard gets executed.

Someone needs to make a video showing where all the Halla statues are and what dialogue to take to get the best outcome.
lmao, this.

I ended up settling on Celene in power, Gaspard exiled. I was actually rather infuriated that in stopping the assassination I had no choice but to side against Gaspard and support Briala, despite having equally damning evidence against Briala and a good bit of evidence to show that Gaspard was being framed for the worst of it. Not that I favored Gaspard over Celene - I like him more, personally, but detest them both, politically - but it kind of took a massive crap over my "force them to work together or face the demons alone" vision. After having that option taken away with the templars and mages, I wasn't in the best of moods.
That being said, I did like how the epilogue mentioned that Celene lived the rest of her reign in fear of Gaspard's return, and how she owed her victories entirely to her relationship with the Inquisition; I enjoyed how that made my Inquisitor more of a chess master, keeping Gaspard alive not out of mercy but to hold as a sword over Celene's head.
In any event, on my second playthrough where I'm rapidly approaching this quest, I intend to let the assassination happen and see what goes from there. If I end up liking that more, I may just change my official decision in the keep when DAI opens up on there, but we'll see.

at this point I'm just going to change it in the keep if I want to in the future, this quest is terrible and I need it to be over. the fact they would block important options due to random deer statues being scattered about is ridiculous to me. I found one on the railing in the kitchen, on the ceiling...So, that tells me that they're in atrocious places with the exception of the one on the balcony.\
If I do a second play through I hope by then there's a guide mapping all of them out, but I probably won't bother doing another one until that happens.

Are there even enough halla statues to get all the evidence and open one of the two bonus doors at the very end?

I did it where they all 'worked together' with Celene holding throne
However nearly all subsequent dialogue in the game said that Celene had won and Gaspard was exiled... annoyed at that but whatever

That was a little annoying, yeah.

Now that I've started a second playthrough, can someone explain to me how to side with Gespard when the time comes? It didn't let me my first playthrough. I guess I missed something?

Talk to his sister in private instead of publically damning her.

I lucked out and got generally the end I wanted - Celene remained in power and reconciled with Briala, with Gaspard being executed.

How do you do this? Is there a specific piece of blackmail against Celene you need, and, if so, where do you find it?

As discussed earlier, you have to get the locket which is located behind a halla door in the servant quarters. Then you have to bring up the locket to both Briala and the handmaidens in the ballroom. Then blame Gaspard for everything while giving credit to Briala for helping you.

Thanks so much! I think I know the door you're talking about, I saw it when running through there (the one that takes 3, correct?). I'm going to do this now.

Hmm, anyone mind telling me how to get the three of them to work together? Preferably via a PM, thank you very much in any case. Also, do the Inquisition perks that open extra dialogue help here? Particularly the ones regarding nobility and the chantry?
Me too! Please help. Can I be told how to reconcile Celene and Briala, + get all 3 to work together? ![]()

To reconcile Celene and Briala, you need at least three halla statues separate from the one you grab when looking for dirt on Celene's arcane advisor. If you're not super into exploring and finding all of them, the fastest way to do this is to get the one upstairs on the right in the outer courtyard (don't use it on the door out there unless you want to go find another), the one in the kitchen near the entrance to the servant's quarter, and the one behind Briala during the cutscene in which you first meet her. After you get that one, stay in the building you are in and look for a small bedroom with a door inside it. A quest should pop up about entering a vault in the building you are in. Use the three halla statues to open the vault door in the bedroom and there should be an elven locket inside. Pick it up and return to the ballroom. You should keep your approval above 85, as some are speculating the gambit won't work otherwise. You might need to talk to the culprit instead of fighting them too. Go up to the Empress' ladies in waiting (they are the women who talked to you outside on the balcony) and tell them you have the locket. This will trigger a cutscene with Celene. Do the same with Briala.
Once you've apprehended the culprit and are talking to Celene, choose the option: use evidence against Gaspard to support Briala. Pick some of the options that appear, and then say "What about Briala's reward?" (attempt to reconcile Celene and Briala). This should be successful if you followed all of the prior steps.

I was about to post here on how to get Celene and Briala back together but it seems I'm super late to the party. Darn. lol
Well, I'm quite happy that I can get Celene and Briala back together again. And the good news is, if you do so, you get a much more positive epilogue slide for Celene. Behold the power of love.

I have a pro and a con when it comes to this whole ball business. On the one hand, OH MY FREAKING GOD I can't remember the last time I was so tense during a video game! Especially since I activated it when I wasn't intending to. The whole thing was incredibly nerve-wracking and I LOVE THAT about it.
On the other hand... I would have enojoyed it far more if it wasn't so hard to maintain court approval while in the combat areas. I felt rushed and wasn't able to get to all the collectables and secret evidence, though I am going to try and get a perfect run later on.
And now I am waiting to do the final mission because I don't know which quests get locked out and can't be completed post-game. I'm saving the collectables and dragon fights, but I have a thing or two to finish up in the Emprise Du Lion I'm pretty sure...

Why anyone would condemn Briala to an abusive and extremely unhealthy relationship is beyond me
You will be surprised at how many people actually believe that is the "good" or "right thing" to do. I'm not a huge fan of Briala, but I'll be damned if I even think about making her Celene's pet once more.

LMAO I do agree. It _is_ an extremely unhealthy and abusive relationship. Which is why I find it hilarious that the abuse dynamics are just flying over everyone's head.
Still reuniting Celene and Briala though, because lol.
