Anyone got a clue as to what's going on with the random Chantry Woman (named "...") who pops up as you make your way around the wastes? Companions make a few uneasy comments but nothing else really seems to happen.

I'm wondering about this too. I've encountered her twice now and found an excerpt about her as well. It's the second entry under History entitled "A Journal on Dwarven Ruins." I'm not sure if this is somehow tied to the quest "The Tomb of Fairel" but I'm about to complete that quest so I'll get back if anything pops up.

Update: I finished the quest and nothing so I'm just going to assume she's an Easter egg.

All I know is that Sera called her "weirdy" and that made me laugh.

I have encountered her three times, each time a different member of my party (Consisting of Cassandra, Cole and Solas) has made individual comments and discussion about her. Cole speaks to her in regards to her purpose here, she stating that she is spreading the word of the maker to all corners of his land (more or less, it was a chantry quote she used), he says that is good. Cassandra questions how she got from where she was to where we encountered her again so fast, she says yet another quote, something about how the servants of the maker move with his breath. Finally I encountered her my third time (going to check all corners of the map after this to see if there is something more to her, will post if I do) anyway, the third time she spoke with Solas, he finished off with an ominous statement of "She is not a danger to us, but I sense something is very wrong here." which to me, considering his intuition on such things has not lead me astray anywhere else (level 23 hissing waste is the second to last area left to be explored by me) I'd say she's definitely something out of place there. Thoroughly interested in figuring out what

**Edit** I remember the way Cole replied to her (they did a banter of three parts) was even strange for the way he talks, not sure if that means anything, I took it as maybe she is some sort of spirit like he is; just thought I'd add that in case it lead to something.

Any chance you'd be willing to spoilertag it?  I'm curious, but I just finished my first 100+ hour playthrough and was looking forward to taking a little break before really getting into one of the other two I started.

I got an epic bow after finding the woman 4 times.  Was nice because I played as an archer.

Would be cool if someone could just mark the spots on a map where they've found her. I'm trying to find her for the fourth time but no luck atm.

 

EDIT: I found this from the penny arcade forums, credit to hippofant who posted it:

"First time I found here was slightly west of The Cove Camp. 2nd time was, I think, SE of Lonely Light. No idea where the third time wa, maybe SE of Mountain Fortress Cap, but 4th time was ESE of Logging Camp, about half way - horizontally speaking - to Sand Crags Camp, past a dwarven statue with fire in amongst some trees with some poison spiders."

 

I can CONFIRM that the third time as he mentions is truly SE of Mountain Fortress camp. For me it was my fourth time. Surprise for anyone who finds her

I only ran into her once. Guess looking for her 3 more times will be a good way to try and hear all the banter in the game!

I found her further from the logging camp than you. If you drew a line directly south of Sand Crags Camp and directly east of Logging Camp, then she was right where the two lines intersected in a small grassy area.

 

She was also more east of Lonely Light and barely South at all.

 

I had problems with Cove Camp though. I found her location, but when I approached she disappeared before I could talk to her. I tried reloading and still can't get her to respawn. The order you find her doesn't matter either; I found her at Mountain Fortress first, Lonely Light, Logging Camp, and then Cove Camp.

Finally found her all 4 times. She thanked me for finding her. Said some inspirational stuff. Solas commented "Of Course".

In my defense, I was not particularly keeping track of where I found her the first few times.

 

And ESE is mostly east, not very south! It's 22.5 degrees off the horizontal!

I've found her three times so far, and while I don't remember the specific locations, they were definitely different from the ones listed here. I suspect she has four areas she roams, each of them fairly large.

I suspect that it is a spirit of faith, the same kind as Cassandra references in relation to her "initiation" to join the seekers which reverses the Tranquil.
