Ok, I'm new to this game.  I really am not sure of the point in multiplayer. Do you just keep playing the same stuff over and over until you get to the boss, or something?  Is there an ending to it? Do you get accomplishments? Is there any competition? Are you trying to get farther than anyone else in dungeon, and, if so, does the game weed low levels out of certain games? What is end game to it? It seems that any joe shmo could play it. I mean, you just go in and mindlesly attack stuff to find loot. Why find loot when you could beat the dungeon without it?

I played multiplayer for about 30 minutes as an archer. I could not play any longer than that because it got way to boring. I had to exit out....It just seemed like an endless dungeon, and the whole time all I did was auto attack because that was all I could do.

Am I missing something, why is it so boring?

Any and all endeavors serve different purposes from person to person.

Someone might go boat fishing for the sport of it, others for the profit, and others may boat fish for survival.

I know some people want to get towards the top of the leaderboards, others want to get the best character possible (build, stats from promotions, equipment) for their own purpose. Others just want to kill time or give other playstyles a chance.

I can sort of see what you're saying though, what's the point of "creating the best character" if all you're doing is increasing the efficiency of contributing towards becoming a "better character." Sorta paradoxical.

Seriously. Are there leaderboard, ladderboards, or something here? What am I shooting for, more gear? Do I get to play a big boss?

Where do you see leaderboards Sterling?

I just went back to look. I don't see any link for leaderboards. I don't even see stats for things like my best games, most kills with one shot, longest time lived, or anything else of this nature...Wow, really? They made a game that's not a game.. no competitiveness, no goals..nothing.

Hmm..do you get to use any of the stuff you find in multiplayer in the regular game?

If not, I see it as another money grabbing gimmick...That is, make multiplayer without competition so to get more people to play it to buy stuff...I guess that's there motive, because I can't think of any other reason why they would make multiplayer so bland and boring. This is like the absolute lowest degrading crap to real gamers ever. Low of low for gaming. I mean, Diablo 3 was a money grab--and they even had they decency to tell you outright--but they had, at least, some competition in it and goals to accomplish. WTF.

Anyway, I'm not wasting my time in multiplayer unless they put some kind of goal or competition in it..

The single player is fun, though.

This kind of mentality is stupid if you are going to play video games in general. What's the point of doing any multiplayer in any video game if you just do the same thing over and over and unlock some reward that only makes it easier to do something.

Also the leaderboard is right there under prestige, not surprising you couldn't find it, seeing as you fail to find the point of playing multiplayer.

Why, thank you wKmike.  Finally an answer to my questions...So there is a leaderboard. Well, I'll go check it out after this quest in single player.

I'll come back later and let y'all know what I think about it. I hope it will give me some sort of ambition to play multiplayer.

..Also, FYI,  I did point out that I am a newb.

I feel like its a reverse tower defense game, with cooperation, if that makes any sense..

See at least if you can make it through stage 5 on the lowest difficulty.

I can already tell the leaderboard system is going to severely disappoint you.

None of the aforementioned (from earlier posts, not the one quoted) stats are tracked and compared within the leaderboards.

I honestly don't really know what the hell the leaderboards track specifically, but it only displays the "top 100" of global players, so if you're not no-lifing it like them, the only part of the leaderboard you'll be looking at is the "Friends" section.

With that said there's challenges, rare items, and the ability to "prestige" (reset your level to 1 from 20 but gaining stats for all of your characters).

The point is to have fun.

Are you having fun?

If so, continue. If not, cease your playing activities and pursue an alternate course of action.

There is so much wrong with your post it's almost breathtaking.

Have we really slipped so far into ignorance as a gaming community that we see the simple sale of a product as a "money grabbing gimmick"? How much of your money has Bioware gained above and beyond the base cost of the game?

If you don't like it, don't play it... if you weren't observant enough to find the leaderboards yourself I'm not sure I'd want you watching my back in game anyways.

It's a vid game.  The pt is fun.  If you're not feeling it then find something else to do.  No need to come here and indirectly belittle those that do.

I just checked it out. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to the leaderboard...Lol, WTF?

Anyway, y'all were right: It doesn't float my boat. There needs to be a lot more. Challenges are ok but there needs to be more to convince me. There needs to be more competitive stats because it does not have pvp. And when I say more challenges, I mean real challenges. Most of the challenges they have in game are not really challenges it's progression. That means if you play 200 hours of the game you will complete 99% of them without even trying. A challenge would be to take out so and so boss within 2 min, kill so and so boss without using a skill, avoid all fireballs by so and so...and actually get good rewards for these types of challenges.

@Sabbatine--yep, and players should start being more critical and stop throwing money at games. For this game they would have made a decent profit if people only paid 5 bucks a pop because of the sheer amount of people who bought it and will buy it. However, they ask for 60-70. Really, we just bought a couple Ferraris for the sons and daughters of most of the EA (BIoware, or whoever it is) staff plus paid there utilities and mortgage bills for the next year.

...They could, at least,  differentiate between night and day within single player game and put in pvp for us..and detail the stats in leaderboards so you know wtf it means.

...and they had plenty of time to do it so there is no excuse there.

Also, most games that have leaderboards make it apparent. Like, you would know who was number one in rank as soon as you logged in and without clicking on any links. So excuuuse me.

.. on top of that, I've only played multiplayer for 30 min and came here to get the lowdown...and it isn't good.

A multiplayer game must have pvp to be fun!

Also,

The Stanleys Parable have leaderboards!

Troll thread is troll. Just stop feeding him. I never understand the point of trying to put others down for enjoying something you don't enjoy. I don't find reason into why people enjoy watching baseball but I won't knock them or make fun of them for liking it. The answers you seek won't be on this forums.

Most vets here come from ME3MP which had a lot of depth beyond the surface. Some people take things at face value others dive deeper for greater satisfaction both ways are acceptable in the gaming world.

Why do people grind gear in Diablo 3 just so that they have the gear to grind better gear? There is nothing at the end of the road, yet they still continue the journey.

Bum multiplayer game. Y'all should demand more while the game is still hot.

...But..If y'all do nothing, I'm sure half of the things I mentioned will show up in the next DA and the other half in the one after that, seeing as how y'all don't mind getting strung along for the profit of the company.

LIke I said, however, the single player is fine.

-Can't see any point in playing multiplayer

-plays single player

Can you please show me where the single player leaderboard is?

I'm gonna go ahead and wager you can't see any point in going out on the weekends too and prefer to sit at home drinking alone.
