I've been trying to use the Lazarus method to import my ME2 female Shepard into ME3 and I've run into a couple problems.

1. There is no "Save As" button in my Lazarus program.

2. I could not install .NET Framework 4 because I have a later version installed.

3. I was unable to download the second .exe file because google barred me with this message:

"We're sorry...

... but your computer or network may be sending automated queries. To protect our users, we can't process your request right now.

See Google Help for more information."

Do any of you have any advice for me? Does anyone have the second .exe file? Could you possibly upload it for me? Really any help will be appreciated.

Thank you.

When you say "Second exe" are you referring to the one in this link:

https://code.google....ect/bin/Release

I was able to download it alright just now (though I had to use Chrome since firefox kept trying to save it as HTML instead of an application). If this is indeed the one you need I could upload it to another link for you.

Edit: Here is another link to that file.

Thank you so much for uploading that .exe file! I uninstalled my newer version of .NET Framework(temporarily) - installed .NET 4. I got everything set up following the guide and there still isn't a save button in Lazarus. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there anything I can do to correct it?

Unfortunately that is the extent of the help I'm able to offer here. I've never actually used Lazarus myself, though I do plan to do so in the future. Hopefully someone here can help.

Okay, I've tried several things and the Lazarus program still has no save button. Would someone be willing to load up my shepard in their Lazarus and upload it here? I know I'm going out on a limb, but it would mean so much to me if someone is willing to do it.

In case here is my ME2 FemShep: http://www.filedropper.com/save0103_2

ME3: http://www.filedropper.com/save0001_1

That's weird, it was working when I posted it. Here's a new one: http://www.filedropper.com/save0103_2

Okay I had to fuss around with this quite a bit to get it working. At first it was giving me issues complaining about not being able to work on my OS (7 64bit) but after a little snooping around I discovered the fault was the second .exe that I downloaded. While my browser was letting me download from the google page with right-click, apparently it wasn't REALLY saving it. I'm not sure whats up with that but I noticed that the filesize of my .exe was smaller than the one I was suppose to have downloaded from google. If I had to guess it was actually saving the webpage (html file) and only calling it an exe. Someone mentioned you had to click the "view source" in one of the comments on the guide blog. I did as it asked but it seems google hates me because it won't let me use their services in this manner.

I just get blocked with Google waving its finger at me and accusing me of unusual traffic queries and assuming I'm a bot. Apparently. I spent the last half hour trying to resolve it and prove I'm not a machine nor am I making automatic requests of google. At this point, I just can't be assed anymore. HOWEVER I did manage to get at least the original, older version of LP up (without the latest exe) so I was able to use it. If you or anyone else has any luck downloading the .exe and .xml file replacements I'd love to have them from another server than google since apparently I'm a robot and they don't take too kindly to my type 'rough those parts of the web.

This was cited as a easier/better guide for Lazarus Project:

http://forum.bioware...h-102/#11073023

See if you're able to right-click and save the links they provide in step 2-3. Mine kept failing due to 'server problem' since its still google and they reject me due to my AI brain and cybernetic body making the inquiry. Discrimination much? Unfortunate for me but might make the process easier for you if you're not considered a robot by google. You organics don't know how good you have it, I tells ya.

I did however go ahead and run the project with your saves, however. Note: The version of Lazarus I have isn't the latest. I believe the things they include in the updated revision include color correction for hair and skin. The older one I used, far as I know, just fixes the facial structure. I should also note that personally I have never actually used this before because I don't play Femshep (I've been told Maleshep doesn't work in LP) so I can't say how good of a job it actually did with your saves. I'm only providing you the ME3 save it popped out for me and can't actually say first-hand what it looks like or even works as it should. I'm just passing you what it told me was a 'fixed' save of your two provided saves.

Oh my god, I'm sorry for all that trouble you went through, but thank you so much for helping! I just loaded up my game to compare.

Left is my ME2 Shepard and right is the fix you provided:

I mean, besides the differences in lighting, there are a couple obvious differences in her facial features; I could try to edit them. I just wish I could get the Lazarus program to work on my computer!

I think I was able to get the new .exe and .xml files, but when I open my Lazarus there still isn't a save button. See?

I'll upload the .exe and .xml in case you want to try them out.

xml: http://www.filedropper.com/lodmapping

exe: http://www.filedropp.../lazarusproject

I'm sorry for the headache you went through, but I am so grateful for what you have done. Again, thank you so much for helping me out, I really appreciate it!

My apologies, it wasn't my intention to come off as a whiner - if I did. I was just venting frustration. A bit too quickly too since I seem to have forgotten that this was the same issue you originally were having with downloading the file. Google think we're both robots, I guess. I feel your pain, my follow synthetic.

The lack of a save button seems to effect a few people since I saw comments on the blog of people complaining about that as well. No clue what thats about, honestly. I'm not a programmer. I applied the xml and exe you supplied and I was still able to see the Save button. I don't suppose screen resolution could cause it - the box being made too small to fit the button. I notice that on mine the end of the "Open ME3" box that lists the ME3 location ends shortly before it gets under the minimize _ button. On yours it takes up a lot more space, expanding out to be under the fullscreen button.

This could have NOTHING to do with resolution, I don't know, but I've seen some programs before in the past that didn't scale properly to the screen resolution and thus made certain buttons unreachable in the window. So maybe? What resolution is your monitor running at?

Using the files you provided I re-ran the program again to make another save. However I'm skeptical the difference will be there. I don't believe what you have is the latest version either. Notice this screengrab from the latest provided on the blog:

LazTut2.png

There are two options missing from the Misc section. To quote the guide these two are:

  • Adjust ScalarParameters - this will copy things like skin and hair luminosity and reflectiveness.
  • Adjust VectorParameters - this will copy things like eye and hair colour.

So the save I provide may be no different from the previous one because of that.

http://www.filedropper.com/save1000_1

One thing I noticed, btw, is that when I load up the saves by default "ignore vertex" is not selected. In our screencap it is. Did you select it yourself or is that how it comes up by default for you?

No you didn't come off as a whiner at all, trust me, I've been whining this past week over all this, especially that stupid google message! Computer issues are incredibly frustrating, especially when something supposedly easy turns into a huge mess, like this has.

Yes, I wasn't sure if that .exe file was the newest version, but I loaded up my game and there are visible differences.

On the far right is the new version:

The lips are more similar to the original as well as the eye shape, and did you notice how different the eye sockets are?

The only problem is that in the animation sequences, there is a sort of malfunction of the lips and teeth. The lips flap around unnaturally and sometimes the teeth aren't even visible and her mouth is just pitch black. I tried to get an imagine as shepard was speaking, but failed to capture it. This is the one I got after she finished speaking; you'll have to zoom in because you can just barely see some of the clipping of the lower lip.

1zgddmb.jpg

So I went to Vhalkyrie's blog to try to download their custom lod maps to reduce the lip issues, annnd I'm getting a 404 error from dropbox! Isn't that just lovely.

To answer your questions, each time I've opened Lazarus the "ignore vertex" is selected by default, and my monitor's resolution is 1920x1080. Do you think I should adjust the resolution for a second to see if the save button appears?

Interesting indeed - mine doesn't ignore the vertex by default and we're using the same saves. Odd.

1920x1080 is the same resolution I'm using yet I'm not having an issue with that. So I guess that isn't it. It was a long shot but worth asking I guess. Have you tried running it as Admin (right-click and run as administrator) to see if that changes anything? Its a long-shot, such as the resolution was, but its something to try.

I've heard the lip syncing issue is something that tends to come from using Lazarus. I could be off on that though - I just remember seeing it mentioned a few times on the topic. With the dropbox link being 404 and no other alternatives out there your best bet, small it may be, is to ask the forum if anyone happens to have it to send you. The only options I can think of for you at this point is to painfully go through the character creator again and tweak your ME3 Shepard to be as close as possible to the ME2 one. Not easy at all given the limited camera angles. This was unfortunately how I 'fixed' my Maleshep in ME3 who looked NOTHING like the ME2 model. Took me literally hours. Not fun.

Another option is to use the Gibbed save editor to make the tweaks. I haven't done it myself but I hear good things, though from what I understand its just as tedious. Takes patience and dedication. http://www.facesofga...guide/show/id/5

Sorry I can't be more help on this. I'd say to make a topic specifically asking for someone to share the latest Lazarus .exe but that is basically what this topic is and there doesn't yet seem to be anyone who can help. The forum isn't as active as it once was. There's quite a few Femsheps though so I wouldn't be surprised if SOMEONE had the file to share but doesn't actually check this subsection. Asking this in the story section would be considered inappropriate due being the wrong forum but you would probably be more likely to get someones attention who can actually help out.
