Rift Mage interested me the most at first because it seemed like the most likely path given, you know, the mark. I went with Knight Enchanter because it reminded me of my AW Warden though, and I can't look back. KE is just way too fun.

I'll always miss Duelist spec for Rogues though. Rest in Piece swashbuckling excitement (Not that Dragonage ever even got the swordplay halfway close to right, but I still liked it)

Rift Mage is basically Force Magic BUT the Focus ability Firestorm is pretty sweet.

So you can knock people down, or pull them towards a point and lay an absolutely huge AOE attack down on them. (The largest AOE in the game, I think actually.)

I'm starting to get concerned about the other options. Everyone seems to love Knight-Enchanter, yet praise - or even discussion - of Necromancer or Rift Mage seems non-existent. A favoured subclass is one thing; an overshadowing class is another. :?

Its because Knight enchanter is the most overpowered mage specialization I might even go further and say its the best one in the game it completely overshadows the other two mage specs.

Hell everyone in the combat and strategy forum are saying its completely broken and I agree with em.

Rift mage is supossedly more OP than KE due to the unique manaleech, and the interaction with the fire passive that reduces your cooldowns with every spell cast. KE cant spam spells like RM due to mana constraints. RM can rotate spells all day.

Does not matter when playing nightmare the KE has crazy more survivability than RM and along with winter stillness passive mana should not be an issue with KE plus they deal spirit damage and are also good in the damage department as well. There is a reason why in the combat and strategy forum people who are even playing nightmare are in agreement that KE is the most OP class.

Wrong. If you're an Ice KE with the Winter Stillness passive you can Jedi your way past the game without ever running out of mana. I hope they don't nerf it. It's definitely a "Nightmare" specialization though.

Pretty much KE is THE nightmare class survivability? Check, Damage? Check and utility? Yeah it has that as well. Does it also have mana issues? Nope no issues what's so ever.

Well bioware has nerfed and buffed things in the previous dragon age games I suspect the KE shield generation skill will be looked at or the other specs might see buffs or even both may happen.
