It's more tactical this way, as it forces you to prepare before each encounter with the vendor.

LOL ! Sounds like typical Bioware PR line.

If a column called valuables strikes you as = junk tab without consideration, I can see how angry this might make you.

They say on a card in the loading screen that Valuables is a tab use for objects that can be sold for profit. Therefore = junk tab in EVERY @#$! RPG EVER MADE!

It wouldn't be such an issue in the early game if they didn't dump you outside Haven gates every time you return so you first run past the vendor and do what 99.99% of people do..sell stuff.

It seemed kind of silly to me to be dumped outside Haven gates on my own and when i enter everyone that was with me is already spread out around town.  So what happened they all left me behind and closed the door in my face?

You should spawn back in Haven outside the Chantry building so it is easier to go in and do your stuff and then go sell things and after continue on your travels.

Geez, you expect them to design the game to be more efficient for you?

I don't know who's idea it was to place every research object in valuables and make sure you could sell them for a ridiculous amount of money. I just lost EVERY @#%$ RESEARCH FOR 20 HOURS because of that.

was it really that hard to get another category for research item?

RIGHT??? I couldn't figure out why I never had any research materials. I'm freaking 30 hours in, and a friend sent me a text last night explaining that they are in valuables. WTH??

I don't think valuables is horrible design.

I think "research items going into valuables" is huge oversight and a huge mistake.

Research items should have their own section.

Valuables need to stay. Just rename it to "junk" or "sell items"

I love the convenience of sending all the loot I do not need into valuables and easily click the "sell all button" at the merchant. Helps keep my inventory decluttered.

Bioware should had explained it better so that you would had known. Luckily for me, I read Kotaku.com helpful tips guide and that's where I found out do not sell your "yellow" in the valuables section.

For all of you that have. I am sympathetic for situation. That includes you OP.

Not to mention that for the longest time I refused to sell anything under the valuables tab, because silly me I thought they were VALUABLE and had story consequences.

It's called 'valuable' for a reason.

Except..that name is useless when the game also stores junk items there. During one loading screen, the game actively encourages you to treat the valuables section similar to the junk section from DAII without warning you that research items are also stored there.

+1 I've lost every research item for the last 15 hours until I noticed that it was going into the valuables section. I don't know how that made it past play-testing.
