Hi guys,
So I was trying to locate my ME1 save file under the ME2 Configuration thing, and I just couldn't find any thing that looks like a save file. When I go to the Import Character option in ME2, it is simply not there. Could someone enlighten me on this and tell me?
And to be honest, I think Bioware could've made this more simple, really.
Also, I have successfully redeemed both Cerberus Network Codes and CE Bonus item codes, but have yet to find the links to download the corresponding download address. Are the contents already in my game when I start it?

I doubt either are in the game as of yet, well, maybe the bonus items. The cerberus network will not be put online until tomorrow with the official release. And thats if it works flawlessly, and sadly with tech, it generally never works flawlessly on first attempt.
As to your save game, let me look where mine is and get back to you.
Your saves should be:
For W7
C:\\\\Users\\\\*useraccountname*\\\\Documents\\\\BioWare\\\\Mass Effect\\\\Save
For XP itll be in the my documents folder under bioware\\\\mass effect\\\\save
It has a name like: Char_01-50-1-2-0-8-1-2010-25-52.MassEffectSave
Edit edit: It seems for some reason the forums like having \\\\ instead of single ones. So dont copy and paste and manually navigate, but that is the correct location.

you need to have successfully completed a playthrough of ME1 first. second: start the launcher, click on configure, then go to to save games and click "copy mass effect 1 save games" and navigate to the directory the above poster said. that should see you right

Actually, I found it 2 seconds after I posted the thread. You see it was quite confusing as the ME2 save file is under the same directory but ME1 saves aren't. Oh well. Thanks both for your replies. And those who ran into the same issue can refer to this thread now:)

Have played through ME1, have 2 complete games in ME1 folder. ME2 reconizes NONE of them. Have reinstalled both games with same result, have also opened one of the ME1 games and played it. Still no Joy

Try moving them manually. KBGeller above lists where they are; you want to copy them to Mass Effect 2\\\\Save\\\\ME1 under the same Bioware folder (may need to create "ME1" folder yourself)

Yea, I had to manually move them to the ME2 folder.
