Beware the Skybear D:

The winds that blow off ocean whips through their thick fur as they step from the top of a rocky cliff. For several minutes, they glide through the air, hunting for prey. Upon spotting it, they swoop down then and, with a fearsome roar, maul whatever creature they wish for their meal.
Those that travel the coast quickly learn to always keep an eye upwards, even in the most brutal of storms. I had several encounters with the beast; each time the skybear was upon us within a few seconds of our lookout spotting it. Even forewarned, it wounded, and in one case killed, the soldiers traveling with me. I cannot imagine the carnage to a simple merchant caravan or group of fishermen.

((OOC: I've had about four bears literally drop from the air in front of me while exploring the Storm Coast. I have no idea what causes them to do that.))

When I saw the thread title I thought the skybears would be more like dropbears, hoop snakes, jackalopes, Pecos Bill, etc.

Flying bears? You must be mad! They were obviously dwarves
(Every time I take Varric out, he spawns 3 ft in the air)
Few creatures are as perfidious as the simple dwarf. Most are not to be trusted but even those who consider you a companion may seek to torment you in the most peculiar ways.
I have lately journeyed through the Hinterlands of Ferelden with a scout of dwarven stock who would hop when I turned away. Yes, dwarves are remarkable hoppers! Their strong legs combined with low weight allows them to make vertical jumps of up to two meters.
The first time, I turned to see her land and she immediately stoped, acting as though she'd been doing nothing odd. Upon questioning her, she expressed confusion and even suggested that I might be seeing things.
I caught her doing this at least a dozen times after that. Not once did she acknowledge what she was jumping. What sort of perverse delight this granted her, I cannot say. Who can comprehend the mind of a dwarf?
