I realize this is a bit premature, but has anyone heard about some kind of a storage chest fix? I'm starting to accumulate rare weapons and I have no intention of selling them, so I'm going to need a chest to store them in.
Any Fix For The Storage Problem?

+1 to this.
I've got gear which is a couple of levels above my character, and I've either got to lug unusable gear around or sell it when I've got a huge castle to store stuff in.
Josephine - Buy a maker damned storage chest for the castle would ya!

I think it would render the extra pocket perks obsolete if they added a storage chest. (Even so, it is odd that you can't store stuff in that MASSIVE castle)

Nah, it'd just reduce the times we've to abandon quest to sell crap on the market.

It's consistent. Just opened a massive chest...what was inside? Small figurine and some locket. Apparently chest design is really bad is Ferelden. To keep all the loot you find would require you fill your castle with chests.

I've given up and started selling stuff. First to go is the grey stuff, regardless of properties. Next is blue or even purple depending on stats. I usually get it down to 40/90 doing that.

i love hording all the stuffs even though i have never taken a second look at them in DAO and DA2.
yeah, i hope we get this in a patch (free) or even a paid DLC (like Warden's Keep).

Yeah, one should come up everytime we place a camp and in our hub.

I sell everything I can't use now or in a couple of levels. Everything I can use is equipped on all characters.
This is perhaps the first BioWare game where I have had no issues equipping everyone with the latest and greatest gear. All my companions are in blue/purple gear, most of it better than what I can craft at this point and I'm still selling blue/purple gear because it isn't as good as what I already have.
The itemization is terrible in the game.

My half-baked workabout is to simply store gear, especially ability rings, on unused characters.

My problem is I want to keep signature gear. Cole's Hat, Sera's Bow for instance. They outlast their usefulness though, and having to lug them around taking up valuable inventory slots is annoying.
instead of an inventory perk, I'd rather have a storage chest perk. 60 slots while exploring are quite enough for my need, most of the time, but I want something for long-term storage.

Isn't there a way to store them into the Valuables tab?
Or does that take space too?

I'm not sure if it will help but there are 2 missions perks that increase your inventory by 15 both :
(source :ign)
Connections Perks HISTORY KNOWLEDGE
Opens up new dialogue options related to history and the Chantry. Grants an additional +50% XP for each codex entry found.
ANTIVAN TAILORINGIncreases inventory capacity by 15.
IMPERIAL COURT TAILORINGIncreases inventory capacity by 15.

I believe you can also hack this (if playing on PC) with a memory editor like Artmoney or Cheat Engine. Search for 60 -> get the first perk -> filter for 75 -> get second perk -> filter for 90 -> set it to 300 or whatever you want.

Use the best, sell the rest! But in all honesty a chesty chest would be nice.

I don't understand the lack of storage. BioWare has acknowledged that storage is one of the most frequently requested features, yet they aren't sure if they will ever implement it. I'm not sure I understand their position.

Seems more like a case of SOP, i.e. not wanting to officially admit this soon after launch that something which should have been in the game is not.

They were probably thinking: "How can we make this game really fun for fans?" Geez, guys, they aren't out to get you the game is amazing don't use so much hyperbole.

They have to make sure the game is stable by resolving technical issues before modifying the game's design.
The game is perfectly playable without a storage chest, but for many people who can't even run the game due to software issues out of their control... it's not.
Don't worry though. A Storage area is something they will likely resolve due to its minimal implementation scope.

No, it's a perfectly viable complaint. Even back in DAO an item stash was the #1 most common request together with respec capability, and both of these ended up being provided by user-made mods well before BioWare added them. They took the respec issue to heart this time, but one can certainly wonder what kind of decision making process led them to exclude the item storage when they had to know people would want it. If the lack of one makes the game more fun, I'd like to hear how.

Could have been a conscious design choice or simply an oversight.
Admittedly, it's a rather intuitive thing to expect irrespective of the game's predecessors.
You own a huge customizable fortress. it's rather odd that they didn't include a storage space.
What's important is that they have acknowledged it and will attempt to include it.
If they implemented everything fans wanted at launch, the game would never release in a respectable timeframe.

I think a bigger omission on their part is salvaging. Seems strange to build a crafting system, then have a salvaging system only available in multiplayer.
I'd much rather salvage gear than sell it.

most likely.
