A storage chest would still be nice. But I don't think it's necessary if you're smart.

It's not about being smart or not and yes it's not necessary.

I for one, like to keep companion's first gear around and unique items I find in RPGs. They are not useful, they're just reminders of past adventures.

I don't see my character in DAO saying : "Hey Sten! remember that sword that mattered so much to you? well it sucks and I need my space, consider it sold !"

Storage is not about game balance and smart use of your resources, it's about playing the game in different ways.

If inventory mattered as a game feature, then let's have little things like weight and volume to play with.

Remember that a lot of stuff is craftable so, as long as you have the schematic, you can make a new one, most likely from better mats.

Chest would still be nice though.

They could potentially add a treasure room or a vault in sky hold, perhaps somewhere where we would regularly go, people could dump their stuff in there.

Like a guild vault in wow.

There's now a rather easy solution to this issue (on PC) to let you carry as much as you'd like, and you don't even have to do any scanning yourself, courtesy of the people at Cheat Engine. See http://forum.cheaten...77587&start=315 second post from top. It works well, though you may have to buy/sell an item to get it to update and then save/load the game to make it stick.

I rarely fill my inventory.  I equip everything I can on my crew (even secondary folks in the keep) keeping all current and then sell the excess.  What would I save it for?  With 'upgrades' you can alter properties to do what you want.  Want Fire resistance for that pesky dragon?  Pop in some custom made upgrades to your gear.

Seriously, why hoard every little piece. especially when you find better in a couple levels or it stays good for a long time--in which case it should be equipped, not collecting dust in a storage bin. You shouldn't be finding so much good gear that you have to grow into that you must save.  At any given time, the highest number was, I want to say, 10 pieces were in my hands waiting for me to level a couple times. Don't forget the valuables can be vendored and you can turn in research at the desk to boost your combat prowess, clearing a huge chunk of inventory.  And all crafting has it's own inventory, not counting toward your 60, 75 or 90 slots.  I only bought perk #1 of improved bags and I have in over 75 hours of play only filled up twice in the field, and that was my own damn fault for not selling before I set out (I always start in Skyhold).  Even then a lot of the zones have some vendor in them you can sell to.

Everything else I sell down in the Undercroft.

I just find it a chore to always micromanage the inventory, be it through porting in extra party members to hang amulets around their necks and put rings on their fingers, or constantly head back to a town/keep to drop stuff off. Sure, I could do it, but I'd rather just pick up as much as I need to, when I need to, and sort it all out later when I decide for myself that I want to head back in. This goes double in games with a significant focus on constantly picking up items.

Bioware thought of it to be "tactical" to not have storage for your items.
